Great Service

22 Jul 2018

Very friendly & efficient

Help personified

22 Jul 2018

Could not have been more helpfull. Nothing was too much trouble. Their advice and actions were outstanding.

Finally straight forward

22 Jul 2018

John was helpful, knew his subject and was able to make suggestions without being 'pushy'. All my questions were answered well But the initial telephone system of clicking on numbers was maddening, after three separate tries when clicking achieved nothing I finally got through.

So far so good exelent!!!

22 Jul 2018

Exelent

The person I spoke to was clear, helpful and very professional.

21 Jul 2018

The offers were explained clearly and I found it a pleasure to choose the right holiday for me.

Very good service

21 Jul 2018

I did not expect to pay the full amount when booking, this was a problem as the credit card we use has a low limit and was used close to its limit. We are just back from the Baltic and intended to pay off the card. This caused a delay in us confirming the booking but was handled very well by Natasha.

Appalling!

21 Jul 2018

This booking was NOT supposed to have any communication by email! This was told to you by EMMA who did the booking. This has wrecked the surprise that this was to be! You were told after I received a confirmation on my email shortly after booking not to send anything else. Then I receive THIS! THIS IS A DISGRACE!!!!!

A caring, well organised company.

21 Jul 2018

Excellent service from Natasha. Would recommend the company to anyone. Will continue to use FO.

Always a good service

21 Jul 2018

I've used ROL several times before and have always received efficient and good service from them. They phone back when they say they will and will look into any queries that you may have. Cruise Miles is a good incentive to use ROL for another booking. I would recommend them to others booking a cruise.

Quick and easy.

21 Jul 2018

Everything was fine and the booking was handled efficiently. Promised callbacks came within minutes and everything was done with the minimum of fuss.

First class service.

21 Jul 2018

The experience from start to finish was first class. Ensuring that every bit of our forthcoming experience would be to our needs and personal requirements. Also giving us really good advice and the benefit of her knowledge and expertise. I felt that I could really put my trust in the representative because of the way that she handled every detail of our booking. Thank you.

Simple and efficient service.

POLE POSITION

Where Hurtigruten sails in northern Norway is directly beneath the auroral zone, an area of continuous and consistent aurora activity around the North Pole. Of the 34 ports visited from Bergen in the south to Kirkenes up north, 22 are in the Arctic Circle, giving you plenty of opportunity to see the Northern Lights.

PRIME TIME

The lights can start to make an appearance as early as September and as late as May, but it is the winter months between October and March when they are most visible, laying claim to the night sky.

WHAT YOU SEE IS WHAT YOU GET

  • The Northern Lights will usually appear at multiple times and at multiple locations during your voyage with Hurtigruten
  • Onboard announcements ensure you don’t miss a single sighting
  • There are no hidden fees or separate excursions just to see the lights
  • There’s no time limit either, so you can enjoy them to your heart’s content for as often and for as long as they appear.

FRONT-ROW VIEWS

Travelling at sea under the auroral zone means that displays can appear right above the ship. Outdoor observation decks provide a clear line of sight to the sky, and the close-up view avoids the artificial ambient light common on land.

NORWAY’S COASTAL KITCHEN

While your eyes feast on the scenery, your tastebuds will be in for a treat too. Expect sumptuous seafood caught fresh that morning, local fare such as cured lamb from Hellesylt, roast reindeer from Finnmark, homemade cloudberry jam, and ice cream from a Lofoten dairy.

IMMERSIVE ADVENTURE

You won’t find cinemas, shopping malls, or cabaret shows on a Hurtigruten ship. Instead, your entertainment is the wide range of seasonal shore excursions that bring you closer to the local culture and wildlife. The winter months feature over 35 optional extras at a supplement such as:

• dog sledding • a Viking feast • snowmobiling • whale watching • a trip to the North Cape • king crab safari • horse riding in Lofoten • guided city tours • mountain hikes

Bergen is surrounded by seven mountains, and one of the most popular attractions of the world: the fjords. The city offers the ideal combination of nature, culture, history and exhilarating city life. What has made Bergen famous is its unique charm, which is something you have to experience for yourself. Enjoy strolling around the old streets and alleyways where people have lived for centuries. Walking through UNESCO-listed Bryggen’s narrow alleyways, made even darker and more mysterious by overhanging balconies, feels like stepping back in time. Bryggen is not a museum but part of the cultural heritage that is still in use - a living historical area of the city. The Fløibanen Funicular is a very popular attraction, running from the city centre to the top of Mount Fløyen in about 7 minutes. From the viewing platform you can admire spectacular views of the city, mountains and fjords. In addition to the wide range of hikes, you'll find a restaurant, café, souvenir shop and playground.

The Ship

Although this ship is named after today’s King of Norway, Harald, you will find other famous Norwegians on board as well: The bar is named after Nobel Peace Laureate, the Norwegian polar pioneer Fridtjof Nansen and the café is named after explorer Roald Amundsen. As with MS Richard With, MS Kong Harald was launched in 1993 to mark Hurtigruten´s centenary. In the ship’s interior you will see decorative details of the King’s Crown emblem.
