Value for Money

23 Mar 2019

Pre booked a P&O Cruise for 2021. Contacted other Travel Companies, however, it was clear that ROL had done their research and had systems in place to ensure that when they applied for my booking to P&O I had the best chance of securing the exact cabin I required. They also had the prices which some Companies were not prepared to commit to at that stage. The cost of the cruise was not the cheapest price, but all considered so far I have got that extra Customer Service, and think that will follow through to being on board the ship with ROL. Its looking like that small extra cost is going to pay off. Efficient admin also, which is refreshing, and money off my next holiday

    Day 3

    Juneau, Alaska

    10 Sep 2019

Migrating whales, rivers of ice and super fresh seafood capture the hearts of its visitors, although Alaska’s capital city also has a strong mining history. Once the sacred territory of the Auke and Taku tribes, Juneau was named after the gold prospector Joe Juneau.

  • Hubbard Glacier

    Day 4

    Hubbard Glacier

    11 Sep 2019

Come face to face with a gigantic wall of ice that fills your view and extends for miles in either direction. It s a titan on the move, advancing faster than almost any other glacier on the continent. When it reaches saltwater at Disenchantment Bay, the imposing architecture of this behemoth measures five miles in width and 40 stories in height, dwarfing even the largest ships. As you glide along this sparkling blue marvel, watch for seals basking on ice floes, listen for the loud, deep rumble and wait for the mighty crack and thunderous crash. At any moment, you could be witness to an eternal drama as nature s hand sculpts icebergs before your wondering eyes.

  • Sitka

    Day 5

    Sitka

    12 Sep 2019

The onion domes of St. Michael's Cathedral are your first clue that Sitka was once a Russian settlement - the colonial headquarters of Count Baranof, no less. Discover the echoes of its heyday at a performance by the New Archangel Dancers. Be greeted by Tlingit native people, then stand on the spot where the United States took possession of Alaska in 1867 for $7.2 million, less than two cents per acre. The dramatic setting in the shadow of Mt. Edgecumbe is one of the lovliest in the Great Land. Take a stroll through old growth forest in Sitka National Historical Park, shop the downtown district, and poke around the Sheldon Jackson Museum for a close-up look at some of the city's most prized arts, crafts and Russian relics.

  • Ketchikan, Alaska

    Day 6

    Ketchikan, Alaska

    13 Sep 2019

Super-scenic Ketchikan sits on the edge of Revillagigedo Island, surrounded by the verdant Tongass National Forest. Its waters are rich with Pacific salmon, a fact which drew native Tlingit and industrial fishermen here, not to mention an abundance of wildlife. Black bears can often be seen catching fish from passing streams, while birds of prey soar over glacial mountains.
