  • Nice, France

    Day 1

    Nice, France

    23 May 2019

One visit to Nice and you'll understand the inspiration behind Matisse's vivid use of colour. From its crystal blue waters to its multi-coloured flowers, palaces and piazzas, Nice's scenery is like nothing else you've ever seen. And with its temperate climate, you can't help but relax. This coastal old town is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

  • Marseille (Provence)

    Day 2

    Marseille (Provence)

    24 May 2019

At the same time bustling and picturesque, this oldest of the great French cities has progressed with the times, modernizing constantly. If it looks familiar that might be because it has played a role in many films, French and international, in fact just off the coast looms the foreboding Chateau d’If, where the fictional Count of Monte Cristo was imprisoned. Or perhaps you recognize scenes from paintings; the small port of l’Estaque was once a favorite haunt of artists such as Renoir, Cezanne, and Braque. In addition to a lengthy history, today Marseilles is well known in France for its hip-hop music. Who knew?

  • Saint Tropez

  • Nice, France

    Day 4

    Nice, France

    26 May 2019

One visit to Nice and you'll understand the inspiration behind Matisse's vivid use of colour. This coastal old town is the perfect place to relax and enjoy a breathtaking sunset.

  • Day 5

    Bastia

    27 May 2019

Long regarded as the “gateway to Corsica”, the picturesque port of Bastia is located on the northeast corner of the French island, and dates back to Roman times. Nowadays, the sunny, charming streets of the Old Town, or Terra Vecchia, are home to lively markets, restaurants and cafés, rich culture, Baroque architecture, and breathtaking landscapes. Venture beyond the town to see ancient Genoese ruins at Furiani, or to Ville-di-Pietrabugno for a spectacular view of Bastia, Cape Corsica and the islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. Be sure to visit the Genoese Governor’s Palace or take a simple stroll through Place Saint Nicholas to enjoy the region’s famous wines, while nature lovers will want to see the Lake Biguglia Nature Preserve and archeological site.

  • Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

    Day 6

    Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy

    28 May 2019

Rome has something special to offer to all visitors, no matter their interests and tastes. Whether you daydream about fighting with gladiators in the Coliseum, debating with togaed senators in the Forum, tossing a coin in a fabled fountain, or being awestruck by the magnificence of St Peter’s Basilica and Michelangelo’s masterpieces, Rome seems to live up to its sobriquet – the Eternal City. When you need sustenance, today’s Rome will provide delizioso pasta e vino. Or perhaps you draw strength from a little retail therapy – the Italians are also renowned for their sense of style.
