Good comunication from the sales team keeping me up to date on my flight and times from Birmingham and booking me in to the airport Hotel

My first booking with ROL. My call was answered quickly and in a friendly manner. However, when I asked about whether there would be choices for dinner on the ship booked for the expedition voyage (not my experience on previous voyages with Hurtigruten), I was told that there would be. I have since rung Hurtigruten who say that most dinners will be set menus, so they will need to be informed about any specific food needs by ROL. I have now informed ROL. I trust they will pass it on. It's best for staff to admit they don't know the answer to a question, but will find out, rather than misinform customers, no matter how well-intentioned. A payment receipt was sent immediately, but I was warned that it might take up to 14 days to received my booking confirmation documents, which is fair enough, but I've not experienced such delays with other companies. There was no mention of the size of the deposit required (30%) until I was asked for payment. It would have been useful to have this information in the brochure, as it is considerably bigger than I have been used to with other companies. Update 21 Sept: ROL rang me about the points made above - all sorted out now, and I do appreciate the fast response; it shows that they do value customers.

    During the 18th and 19th centuries, Nevis was one of the richest colonies of Britain and a playground of the rich and famous. There are also many tales of chivalry and romance. Lord Nelson's courtship of and idyllic marriage to the Nevisian beauty, Fanny Nisbett is a love story of international renown. The Jewish Cemetery is all that remains of the community, which settled in Nevis after being expelled from Brazil in the 17th century. Its members were valued merchants and are credited with introducing sugar production technology to the Leeward Islands. The sugarcane fields, which once covered the slopes of the island have long since disappeared, leaving the ruins of once busy sugar mills and luxurious great houses. These are the heritage of an era of prosperity when Nevis was known as the "Queen of the Caribbees." Today, this is an island for relaxing and unwinding, with magnificent beaches and tiny hamlets with names like Chicken Stone or Hard Times, which tell their own story.
