Your Grand World Voyage Highlights

Buenos Aires, Argentina

A rich combination of European grandeur and Latino passion, the capital city of Argentina is steeped in history. Buenos Aires has a diverse range of architecture, tree-lined boulevards and museums. Jazz and tango clubs are popular, with the latter having originated in the city in the 18th century and now one of the most famous Latin dances. The city is synonymous with one of the most powerful women of our time, Eva Perón, who helped change the history of Argentina.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Rio de Janeiro is famed for its Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, framed by Sugarloaf Mountain, accessed by cable car, and Mount Corcovado. The iconic statue of Christ the Redeemer looks over the city from a height of 2,310 feet, and is deemed one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. The city is also renowned for its Carnival, and is one of the most famous events in the world, consisting of huge flamboyant parades, dancing and elaborate costumes.

Easter Island ★ Maiden Port ★

Just south of the Tropic of Capricorn, Easter Island, or Rapa Nui, lies 3,790 kilometres to the west of Chile. Extraordinarily remote, this island was first inhabited by Polynesians who are believed to have arrived by sea about 1,200 years ago. The island is best known as the site of more than 600 stone statues, or Moai, which stand up to nine metres in height. The statues were carved in the spectacular Rano Raraku quarry and were then believed to have been transported on wooden rollers to their destinations. Little is known about these fascinating statues, and during your full day tours, you can begin to uncover the legends that surrounds Easter Island.

Cape Town, South Africa

The flat-topped Table Mountain – one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, stands tall over the cosmopolitan city of Cape Town. This iconic city is known for its lively Victoria & Alfred Waterfront area, full of restaurants, attractions and shops; but away from the hustle and bustle is the Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden, full of indigenous flora, including the South African national flower, the protea. Cape Town is also renowned for its Winelands region, producing world class wines.

The Joy of the Journey

Journey Navigators - Unique to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, Journey Navigators will be on board to entertain and inspire, with their insights and stories. They will host talks, presentations, and private lunches, and are available to anyone who wishes to find out more about their journey.

Signature Experiences - Fred. Olsen have designed five new signature experiences, with each experience created to encapsulate what Fred Olsen think is special about the way they cruise and to make sure that those who love to travel get the most out of their journey and the destinations they visit with them.

★ Join fascinating talks as part of their itinerary insights programme. From lively lectures to small entertaining talks, you can find out about culture, history, architecture and hidden gems of the places you will visit.

★ The Sky at Seas sessions will invite you out on deck to enjoy sunrise and sunset events. You can also join stargazing sessions where you can relax on the open deck, snuggled in a warm blanket with a hot chocolate or toddy and listen as their Nature Scout or visiting Astronomers bring the night sky to life.

★ During their Treats of the Region cooking demonstrations, chefs will show you how to prepare authentic local dishes. You will also have the chance to taste local delicacies.

You don’t just travel from A to B with Fred. Olsen, their cruises are planned with Scenic Discovery routes in mind. These routes are designed to take in all the islands, ports, waterways, lochs and lakes, fjords and interesting seascapes that are out there. You can also join their team for interesting talks or out on deck where they will point out the geology and wildlife you are passing along the way.

As a family-run business with almost 200 years of maritime history, Fred. Olsen are perfectly placed to show you what it takes to run a cruise ship. They have a programme called The Ship and The Sea where you can join their friendly Maritime Guide to explore the ship on a small private tour or join in with their “Audience With” interviews with the Captain and Officers on board.
