Today marks both International Day of Charity and National Food Bank Day, two important reminders of the difference we can make when we come together to support those in need.
At ROL Cruise, giving back has always been at the heart of what we do. We’re proud to have built strong ties within our local community, supporting charities and initiatives that truly change lives.
Making a Difference in 2025
This year has already been a rewarding one for our team, filled with opportunities to lend our support to causes close to our hearts:
🤍 Colchester Foodbank - We raised £3,750 to help provide essential supplies for families in need within our community.
🧡 Tom Bowdidge Youth Cancer Foundation - We hosted our first-ever Tea 4 Tom Day and were honoured to be headline sponsors of their glamorous Feather Ball earlier this year.
💛 Colchester Institute Foundation Trust (CIFT) - We proudly became a corporate sponsor, committing to ongoing donations to fund their valuable local charity work.
💚 Emmaus Colchester - At Easter, we donated hundreds of eggs, spreading joy to children supported by homes, groups, and charities across the area.
What’s Next:
And we’re not stopping there. September is shaping up to be another meaningful month for our team:
💙 On the 16th of September, members of our team will be rolling up their sleeves to support the incredible work of St Helena Hospice. Activities will include painting external garden furniture, carrying out internal painting, light gardening such as raking, weeding and bulb planting, and general tidying around the estate and grounds. It’s a chance for us to give back in a practical way and help maintain a welcoming, uplifting environment for patients and their families.
💜 We’re excited to once again host our annual coffee morning in support of Macmillan Cancer Support on the 17th of September. Alongside plenty of coffee and cake, our much-loved baking competition will be back, with entries judged in four fun categories: Best Looking Cake, Best Tasting Cake, Most Unusual Cake, and Quickest Selling Cake. There will also be a raffle with some fantastic prizes up for grabs. It’s certain to be a day of fun, fundraising, and community spirit.
These initiatives are just the beginning. Supporting charities and giving back to the community will always be a huge part of who we are at ROL Cruise. We’re incredibly proud of the difference our colleagues, customers and partners have helped us make - and we’re excited for all that’s still to come.
