CRUISE MILES TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Cruise Miles is a scheme operated by us. We are Reader Offers Limited, trading as ROL Cruise, our company number is 03036965 and our registered address is 8th Floor, Becket House, 36-37 Old Jewry, London, EC2R 8DD.
Terms and Conditions
By opting in to the Cruise Miles scheme, earning, redeeming, purchasing, transferring, and/or receiving gifted Cruise Miles, you agree to be bound by the provisions set out below. If you do not agree to be bound in this way, do not continue to access or use the Cruise Miles scheme and all Cruise Miles accrued shall be lost. We may modify these provisions at any time. Any such modifications are effective immediately from the time they are included on our website. You agree to review these provisions regularly to ensure you become aware of any modifications to them and by continuing to access or use the Cruise Miles scheme you agree to be bound by the revised terms and conditions.
There will be other terms and conditions which govern the booking of any cruise, including those of third party providers
Glossary of terms
“you or Member” means any member of the Cruise Miles™ scheme.
“we, us or our” means Readers Offers Limited, trading as ROL Cruise.
“Cruise Mile or Cruise Miles” relates to the points earned, purchased, gifted, transferred and/or redeemed under the Cruise Miles scheme.
1. Cruise Miles Membership
1.1 To be eligible to earn Cruise Miles you must be registered with ROL Cruise and be 18 years old or over, and able to provide a valid name, address, date of birth and telephone number.
1.2 As a new ROL Cruise customer, you can opt in to Cruise Miles by completing the registration form on our website or by telephone, by providing the above details. If you are an existing ROL Cruise customer, you may opt in to Cruise Miles at any time by telephoning Customer Services on 0800 121 6191.
1.3 You will be assigned your own individual Cruise Miles account and will begin earning Cruise Miles from the start date of your membership.
1.4 As a new ROL Cruise member, if you have opted in to Cruise Miles and receive marketing material you will receive a welcome email and/or a Welcome Pack in the post, depending on your specific marketing method. If you do not wish to receive marketing from us, you may request a Welcome Pack in the post by contacting our Customer Services department.
1.5 It is your responsibility to keep us informed of any changes to your contact details or circumstances that could affect your Cruise Miles membership.
1.6 You may opt out of the Cruise Miles scheme at any time. Your request to opt out must be received by us directly from you either by contacting our Customer Services department on 0800 121 6191 or by email to email@example.com or in writing to Customer Services, ROL Cruise, Lexden House, London Road, Colchester, Essex CO3 4DB.
1.7 ROL Cruise reserves the right to refuse Membership.
1.8 Only one Cruise Miles membership is allowed per Member.
1.9 If a Member dies, any Cruise Miles in their account may be claimed by their legal beneficiaries within 1 year of the date of death. We will require evidence of the beneficiary’s entitlement which is satisfactory to us before releasing any Cruise Miles.
2. Cruise Miles
2.1 Cruise Miles can only be earned or purchased by, gifted or transferred to clients opted in to the Cruise Miles scheme.
2.2 Cruise Miles are earned as follows: 1 Cruise Mile per £1 spent with us for any new booking made after the start of the membership, unless otherwise stated in a promotion.
2.3 Cruise Miles earned on a new booking will be distributed evenly between all named Members that are opted in to the Cruise Miles scheme on that booking proportionate to each Member’s spend.
2.4 Cruise Miles gifted by us for a booking will be distributed evenly between all named Members that are opted in to the Cruise Miles scheme on the booking for which they were gifted.
2.5 If additional passengers are added to an existing booking at a later date, the original Cruise Miles earned do not change. Any Cruise Miles earned on additional elements will be earned by the new passenger(s) provided they are a Member.
2.6 Gifted Cruise Miles for new registrations to Cruise Miles members will be gifted according to the value on offer at the time of registration and will be clearly stated.
2.7 Cruises booked on board by Members will earn Cruise Miles once the cruise booking has been officially logged as a booking on our system.
2.8 In the event of a cruise, or any element of a cruise booking, being cancelled, including any reduction in the number of any travelling passengers, all Cruise Miles earned on that element or elements of the booking will be deducted from the relevant Cruise Miles accounts unless the earned Cruise Miles have already been redeemed on another booking that has been paid for in full.
2.9 Where any amendments are made to a booking that affect the cost of the booking, the Cruise Miles value may be adjusted accordingly.
2.10 Cruise Miles cannot be earned on past cruise bookings made with us prior to the start of the Member’s Cruise Miles membership.
2.11 Cruise Miles are non-transferrable to third parties, except by special request made in writing from the current Cruise Miles Member and at our sole discretion.
3. Redeeming your Cruise Miles
3.1 Cruise Miles redemption value is 1p per Cruise Mile. There is no cash alternative.
3.2 Cruise Miles can only be redeemed against the total value of a new qualifying booking made through us with one of our preferred partners after the start of the Member's membership. There may be instances where our partners do not allow us to use Cruise Miles for your bookings. You will be notified of this in advance.
3.3 Cruise Miles can only be redeemed at the time of making a new booking and you must notify us at the time of booking if you would like to redeem your Cruise Miles against that booking.
3.4 For bookings made with non-preferred partners Cruise Miles can be earned but not redeemed. Non-qualifying bookings are any other bookings, including (without limitation) day trips, special events, previously booked cruises, or bookings made with non-preferred partners. Other items may be excluded from the scheme at any time at our sole discretion, and will be notified to you from time to time.
3.5 Cruise Miles can be redeemed on ‘booked on board’ bookings with our cruise line partners once the cruise booking is officially logged as a booking on our system.
3.6 Cruise Miles cannot be redeemed against deposits and/or advance registrations.
3.7 Restrictions may apply where Cruise Miles cannot be redeemed in conjunction with any other discount or discount voucher issued by us, or by certain cruise lines.
3.8 Cruise Miles cannot be exchanged for any monetary value other than against the total value of a new cruise booking with us.
3.9 In the event of a booking being cancelled, including any reduction in the number of any travelling passengers, all Cruise Miles redeemed on that booking will be credited back to the Members’ Cruise Miles account if the balance has not yet been paid. There is no cash alternative.
3.10 If Cruise Miles have been redeemed and the booking on which they were earned has been cancelled, the redeemed Cruise Miles will be removed from the booking that they were redeemed on if the balance has not yet been paid, and the cost of the cruise will be adjusted accordingly and will be payable by the Member.
3.11 We remain the owner of all Cruise Miles and they remain our property at all times.
3.12 Cruise Miles may not be redeemed against the booking on which they were earned.
3.13 We accept no responsibility for the fraudulent use of a Cruise Miles account.
3.14 A Member must be a named traveller on a booking for their Cruise Miles to be redeemed on that booking.
3.15 If a cruise is cancelled by the cruise line or by us and Cruise Miles have been redeemed on that booking, the Cruise Miles will be returned to the members account.
4. Purchasing Cruise Miles
4.1 Cruise Miles may at times be purchased by Members when invited to do so by us. We reserve the right to limit the value of purchased Cruise Miles which may be redeemed against any cruise, on a case by case basis.
4.2 You are permitted to cancel purchased Cruise Miles and, provided the Cruise Miles have not been redeemed, will receive a full refund once a letter or email has been received from you within 14 days of the purchase date. The cancellation period will expire after 14 days from purchase. To exercise the right to cancel you must inform our Customer Services department on 0800 121 6191 or by email at: firstname.lastname@example.org or in writing to: Customer Service, ROL Cruise, Lexden House, London Road, Lexden, Colchester, Essex, CO3 4DB. If you were gifted any additional Cruise Miles with your purchase, these will be automatically removed from your account upon cancellation of your purchased Cruise Miles. Gifted Cruise Miles are not refundable.
4.3 We reserve the right to terminate membership if it has been found that Cruise Miles have been purchased or used, or attempted to be used, fraudulently. If we suspect that Cruise Miles have been purchased fraudulently the right to cancel and receive a full refund will be forfeited.
4.4 Purchased Cruise Miles will be assigned to the Member purchasing them.
5. Termination or amendment of the scheme
5.1 We reserve the right to:
(a) terminate any Cruise Miles Member’s membership at any time without notice if we reasonably believe that the Member has acted in a way that harms the business. These actions include but are not limited to: illegal or fraudulent activities; hostile, abusive or aggressive behaviour towards staff; knowingly providing us with false or misleading information, or failure to comply with these terms and conditions.
(b) amend or terminate the Cruise Miles scheme, including the value of the Cruise Miles when redeemed and the number of Cruise Miles awarded for each £1 spent at any time upon reasonable notice.
(c) change any existing expiry dates on any Cruise Miles earned, gifted, transferred and /or purchased, upon reasonable notice.
(d) add or remove additional preferred partners to the Cruise Miles scheme at any time.
(e) amend the terms and conditions of Cruise Miles at any time.
6. Data protection
7. Your Cruise Miles Account
7.1 We reserve the right to remove any duplicate Cruise Miles accounts and any associated gifted Cruise Miles awarded in duplication will be forfeited.
7.2 Cruise Miles balances can be accessed online at www.rolcruise.co.uk or by phoning 0800 121 6191 and may occasionally be found on marketing correspondence.
8. Our liability
8.1 We cannot accept responsibility for any unauthorised spending of your Cruise Miles balance, online or otherwise. It is your responsibility to ensure that all information relating to your Cruise Miles is securely stored, and redemption of your Cruise Miles is carried out securely and appropriately.
8.2 We shall have no liability for claims that arise from you not being able to access the scheme or our website or any interruption, or a failure to complete a transaction.
8.3 We shall have no liability to you for any liabilities you suffer which relate solely to any business undertaken by you.
8.4 Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury due to our negligence or any liability which is due to our fraud or any other liability which we are not permitted to exclude or limit as a matter of law.
8.5 Nothing in these terms and conditions shall exclude or limit any of your statutory rights which may not be excluded or limited to you acting as a consumer. Any provision which would be void under any consumer protection legislation or other legislation shall to that extent, have no force or effect.
9. Force Majeure
Any failure by us to comply with the terms and conditions due to any events outside of our reasonable control (force majeure), including but not limited to acts of God, war, civil commotion, explosion, flood, fire, labour disputes, malicious damage, riot, strikes, supplier delays, terrorism, earthquake, actions of government or any other event or incident, shall not be deemed a breach of these Cruise Miles terms and conditions.

10.2 If we do not enforce a term of these terms and conditions straight away, this does not mean we cannot/ enforce such a term at a later date.
10.3 Each of the paragraphs of these terms and conditions operates separately. If any court or relevant authority decides that any of them are unlawful, the remaining paragraphs will remain in full force and effect.
10.4 You may not assign your interest in the scheme or any contract with us without our written consent.
10.5 The scheme or any contract cannot be enforced by a person who is not a party to the scheme or any contract.
These terms and conditions are governed by English law and you can bring legal proceedings in respect of any disputes arising out of or in connection with your order, including any problems with the products, in the English courts. If you live in Scotland you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Scottish or the English courts. If you live in Northern Ireland, you can bring legal proceedings in respect of the products in either the Northern Irish or the English courts.
