Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, in partnership with Hurtigruten, is to air tonight
Published on 15 Jan 2026
A brand-new television series, Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, in partnership with Hurtigruten, is to air tonight, Thursday, the 15th of January 2026.
Brought to you by Channel 4, the three-part series follows Lorraine as she explores Norway’s legendary coast. Her journey begins in the Art Nouveau town of Ålesund and ends in Tromsø, the ‘Gateway to the Arctic.’
Travelling for much of her journey aboard Hurtigruten’s ships, Lorraine gets to know the people, places and traditions that make this coast so special, from cod fishing and dog sledging to sea eagles and Arctic-farm life. The documentary is a celebration of slow travel, and each episode offers a new perspective on life by the sea, and a glimpse into the heart of the places Hurtigruten has served since 1893.
Ian Powell, Chief Commercial Officer at Hurtigruten, said: “We’re delighted to partner with Channel 4 on this brand-new series. For more than 130 years, Hurtigruten has been connecting people and communities along Norway’s coast, and this series celebrates that legacy while showcasing the beauty of the coastline we call home. It was equally rewarding to work with Lorraine, whose warmth, curiosity, and genuine love of travel make her the perfect guide to share Norway’s authentic, lesser-seen locations.”
Lorraine is one of the UK’s most recognisable broadcasters, known for her warmth, wit and curiosity. Born in Glasgow, she’s been a fixture on British television for over 40 years. She’s been awarded both an OBE and a CBE for services to broadcasting and charity.
Lorraine has long felt a pull toward Norway: “I’ve been dreaming of this adventure ever since I was a little girl, fascinated by tales of Viking maidens, mighty longboats and lawless warriors.”
In Lorraine Kelly’s Norwegian Odyssey, she finally makes the journey - by ship, like the Vikings that so captured her young imagination - to explore the coast, culture and communities of her neighbours across the sea.
