The moment we have been waiting for is finally here. On Wednesday 28th July 2021, the government announced that the year-long ban on international cruises will be lifted on Monday 2nd August 2021. Following the gradual, phased resumption of cruising, approximately 800,000 people have sailed on cruises around the world, demonstrating the effectiveness of the industry’s enhanced protocols. The restart of international sailings is a great step forward.

Speaking after the news was confirmed, the ROL Cruise Management Team said, “The long-awaited and much-anticipated restart of international cruising is fantastic news for our industry. We are elated that we, and our cruise line partners, can get back to doing what we love.”

Andy Harmer, Managing Director, CLIA UK & Ireland said, “Our protocols are continuously evaluated and will evolve as circumstances evolve, including updated health guidance, levels of community spread, development and availability of effective rapid testing, treatments, as well as vaccines. A multi-layered approach is the right one for consumer confidence and to help mitigate risk.”

This is a huge step forward for the cruise industry. We are so excited to explore the world alongside our guests again.
