P&O Cruises unveil million-pound Britannia refit

P&O Cruises’ Britannia to undergo million-pound refit.

Published on 11 Oct 2019

On 7th October 2019, Britannia set sail for her first refit at the Damen shipyard in Brest, France. She joined the P&O Cruises fleet in 2015 and has been embarking on exciting itineraries to some of the world’s most beautiful destinations ever since.

As the epitome of five-star-hotel glamour at sea, Britannia has won the hearts of many. With her beautiful design, stylish décor and fabulous amenities, she’s the jewel in the P&O crown.

As part of her refit, P&O Cruises will be maximising guests' favourite areas to bring the ship's personality to the fore. The atrium will be given a new lease of life to create a lively social hub. Following the success of previous temporary art exhibitions on board, a permanent new art gallery will be introduced to Blue Bar on Deck 5, which is situated by the Atrium.

Deck 7 will be transformed; Java Café will serve alcoholic drinks and the photo gallery will be updated with the welcome addition of a Dixons electronics hub featuring the latest imaging, computing and audio tech from Amazon, Apple, Beats, Bose, Canon, Fitbit, GoPro, Microsoft and Sony.

A host of new premium brands will be added, offering more choices to your shopping experience. Luxurious treats await from Jo Malone, Tom Ford, Edinburgh Gin, Michael Kors and Clifton. Alongside this P&O will be introducing a more immersive experience, including try-before-you-buy tasting tables and consultation areas in the beauty and make-up zones.

In Oasis Spa two ‘express spa’ pods will be added, boasting a range of treatments. In one pod high-tech massages await and in the other, a zero-gravity lounge offering express skin treatments and LVL lash treatments. For longer, deeper relaxation there will be two new innovative experiences in the thermal and hydropool suite.

Britannia will be back in Southampton on 23rd October 2019 ready for the next four years of adventure in the Caribbean, Norwegian fjords, Mediterranean and Canary Islands.
