Discover the timeless wonders of Cambodia

ROL Cruise recommends…

An empire ruled by fabled temples

Previously ruled by the mighty Khmer empire, Cambodia is a land rich in historic architecture. The unrivalled grandeur of the temples of Angkor can be seen across the country to this day, a stark remembrance of a by-gone era. Size and grandeur are just some of the ways to describe the impressive temples that line the lands of Cambodia, giving you a glimpse into the history of a world-renowned country. Home to some of the largest temples in the world, a visit to these temples is a must that should be on any visitors bucket list.

A city covered with exotic elegance

Phnom Penh is the capital city that lies at the heart of Cambodia. The glistening speckles of the Royal Palace, the growing café, bar and food scene and the overpowering smells escaping from the markets are just some of the experiences you’ll uncover in the capital. Watch your step as motorbikes whiz down the narrow streets and the vivid sounds of life reverberate around the buildings. Tarnished by the war that has shaken its past, Phnom Penh has rebuilt its reputation and stands today as a city that has risen from the ashes.

A cuisine that conquers all

Khmer cuisine is the traditional cuisine in the country of Cambodia and one that is part of everyday life for the people of its land. Typical meals consist of contrasting flavours, textures and temperatures and are jam-packed with herbs, leaves, pickled vegetables and dipping sauces, all mixed together to create spellbinding dishes that’ll be a feast for the senses. Expect to tuck into dishes like deep-fried rice cakes, rice noodle soup and freshwater fish.

Adventures of the land

Cambodia is notorious for being home to some of the world’s most stunning creatures, on land and in the sea. The south coast is hugged by tropical island hosting several small fishing villages. The warm seas that surround the coasts play host to some of the regions last remaining freshwater dolphins and sea life, making this a great spot for a sightseeing opportunity. Inland the Cardamom Mountains are home to a tropical wilderness that provides shelter and cover for rare and exclusive wildlife.
