Oceania Cruises FAQs

Do I need a COVID-19 vaccine to travel aboard an Oceania cruise ship?

All guests sailing are required to be fully vaccinated, at least 2 weeks prior to departure, in order to board. For embarkation from European ports, the EU definition of fully vaccinated is as follows:

A passenger or crew member who carries a proof of vaccination, and at least 14 days and no more than 270 days have passed since the last dose of the primary vaccination series or if the person has received a third dose.

Any guest whose primary COVID-19 vaccination will be beyond 270 days at the time of disembarkation from their voyage must have a COVID-19 “booster” at least 14 days prior to embarkation.


Can I take a wheelchair/scooter on board?

Yes, the wheelchair or scooter must be collapsible, and the width must not exceed 22” inches. Please advise your ROL Cruise Specialist should you need to take one with you.


What is a ‘Guarantee’ booking?

Guarantee means that your stateroom number has not been assigned yet but you are guaranteed to sail on the voyage booked, stateroom numbers may not be assigned until the day of sailing.


Can I smoke on board an Oceania Cruises ship?

Designated outside smoking areas are on board all the Oceania Cruises fleet, smoking is NOT permitted in any inside area including your stateroom/suite.


What is OLife?

Olife is available on select cruises and gives you the choice of choosing an added benefit, on board spend, standard shore excursions or a beverage package. The amount of on board spend and shore excursions are tiered depending on the cruise duration.

You can upgrade your House Select package to Prestige for a supplement.


What language is spoken onboard?

The language spoken on board the Oceania Cruises fleet is English, however there are staff on board who can speak multiple languages.


What currency is used on board?

The currency on board Oceania Cruises is US Dollars.


What is Oceania Club?

Oceania Club members enjoy extra savings and benefits. You will automatically become a Club Member once you have sailed with Oceania.

Cruise credits are earned depending on the duration of your cruise and the more points you earn, the more benefits and savings you will receive.


Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are not included in the cruise fare and will be added to your onboard account, they are however at your discretion and you may adjust them onboard.

A service gratuity is added when purchasing drinks, spa services and dinner at La Reserve.


Is internet available on board?

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the fleet but cannot be guaranteed in all destinations.


What dining options are available and is speciality dining at a supplement?

Speciality dining is included in your cruise fare, there are 6 speciality restaurants onboard, booking in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment. There are also other dining options on board.


Are Oceania Cruises able to cater for specific dietary needs and intolerances?

Yes, Oceania Cruises can cater for most dietary needs. If you are intolerant or allergic to certain foods or have specific dietary requirements, please let your ROL Cruise specialist know.


Are any drinks are included in my cruise fare?

Unlimited soft drinks, coffees, teas, juices and bottled water are complimentary and available in the restaurants and bars.


Are drinks packages available on board?

Yes, the House Select beverage package and the Prestige Select beverage package.

House Select consists of champagne, wine and beer with lunch and dinner.

Prestige Select consists of unlimited champagne, cocktails, premium spirits, wine and beer whenever and wherever you desire.


Is there an age limit for alcoholic beverages?

Yes, the age limit is 21 and older, however when in international waters guests who are 18 and older are permitted to consume alcohol. Guests must be 21 and older to consume alcohol on Alaska and New England sailings. Once out of US waters guests who are 18 and older are permitted to consume alcohol on Caribbean sailings.


What amenities are included in my cabin?

Included in every cabin is the Ultra Tranquillity Bed, Bulgari toiletries, plush cotton towels, robes and slippers, free soft drinks and bottled water replenished daily in your mini bar and free 24-hour room service.

Also included is Wireless internet access, cellular service, writing desk and stationery, interactive television system with on demand movies and more, twice-daily maid service and a nightly turn down service with Signature Belgium chocolates.

Suite guests benefit from a 24-hour Butler service as well


What kind of plug sockets are in my cabin?

Regular US 110V (two vertically parallel blades) and regular Euro 220V (two round prongs) are used throughout the fleet.

We recommend you pack at least one adapter plug to use in your room.


Is there a luggage limit on Oceania Cruises?

No, as long as your luggage can be stored safely in your room, under the bed or in the closet. However, there may be a luggage allowance with your airline provider so you will need to check this.
