On arrival, you will be met by an English-speaking assistant and transferred to your hotel for check-in. The remainder of the day is at leisure to start soaking up the local culture.

After breakfast, be met by an English-speaking guide and embark a full day tour of Tokyo. Begin with a visit to Sensoji Temple, Tokyo’s oldest temple, followed by a wander down Nakamise Shopping Street. This street has been providing temple visitors with a variety of traditional local snacks and tourist souvenirs for centuries. Next, head to Tokyo Sky Tree to admire the panoramic views before participating in sushi-making class where you’ll enjoy your own creations for lunch. This afternoon, pay a visit to the Imperial Palace Plaza before exploring the Meiji Jingu Shrine, dedicated to Emperor Meiji. Finally, wander down Takeshita Street and Shibuya scramble crossing before returning back to your hotel. (B,L)

Today, you will be transferred by private vehicle with an English-speaking guide to Nagano. Your first stop will be the Zenkoji temple, a 7th Century Temple, before lunch at a local restaurant. Afterwards, continue to Jigokudani Monkey Park by private vehicle, home of the famous Japanese Snow Monkeys, where you will walk through the forested valley. From the bus carpark you will walk approximately 30 minutes along sometimes snowy paths on an incline, to the main pool where the Monkeys bathe. Accustomed to humans, the monkeys can be observed from very close and almost completely ignore their human guests. After this amazing experience, you will be transferred to your Ryokan in Yudanaka where you will enjoy an onsen hot spring bath and traditional Japanese kaiseki dinner. (B,L,D)
Please note: For all passengers please prepare a small bag for the overnight stay in Yudanaka. For groups of under 10 passengers public transport will be used from Tokyo to Nagano and for 10+ passengers, you will travel by private coach. Destination Information Jigokudani Monkey Park – Inhabited by Japanese Macaques, also known as Snow Monkeys, Jigokudani Monkey Park offers visitors the unique experience of seeing wild monkeys bathing in a natural hot spring. As the weather becomes warmer in April, the snow monkeys may no longer be seen bathing in the hot springs.

After a traditional Japanese breakfast, you will be transferred by private vehicle with your English-speaking guide to Mt Fuji where your first stop will be Oishi Park, which offers great views of Mt Fuji (weather dependent). In case of bad weather, you will visit the Mt Fuji Heritage Centre instead. Afterwards, you will head to a local restaurant for lunch before transferring to Hakone to board a mini cruise on stunning Lake Ashi. Next, take the cable car up to the viewpoint on Mt Komagatake where you can admire the amazing views of Mt Fuji and Lake Ashi (weather dependent). You will then be transferred back to Tokyo to spend the rest of the evening at leisure. (B,L)
