Launched in 2007 and welcoming just over 100 guests on board, RV Lotus offers a relaxed way to explore the Mekong River in comfort. Designed specifically for cruising through Vietnam and Cambodia, she combines classic river ship styling with touches inspired by the region, creating an atmosphere that feels both welcoming and well-suited to the journey ahead. Her size allows her to sail deep into the heart of the Mekong, calling at riverside communities and cultural landmarks that larger vessels simply can’t reach. With spacious balcony suites, open-air deck space and a sociable onboard feel, RV Lotus is ideal for guests who want to experience Southeast Asia at a gentler pace while still enjoying the ease and convenience of life on board.
On RV Lotus, every suite is designed to make your Mekong River cruise comfortable and enjoyable, with plenty of space to relax as the river scenery unfolds outside your door. The ship carries 54 suites in total, all thoughtfully appointed with air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms and private indoor and outdoor balconies so you can take in the scenery at any time of day.
The most common category you’ll find is the Deluxe Twin Balcony Suites, which offer both indoor space and an outdoor balcony for sweeping river views. There are larger Sadec Suites on the Sadec Deck with more room and an en-suite bathroom, ideal if you appreciate a bit more space in your cabin. At the top end of the accommodation range are the Mekong Suites, which provide generous living areas, a sizeable outdoor terrace and extra features that make them particularly roomy and comfortable for longer cruises.
Across all suite types, you’ll find modern finishes and a relaxed Vietnamese-inspired style that suits life on the Mekong: places to sit with a drink, thoughtful storage and a calm feel that makes settling in easy.
Life on board RV Lotus tends to be easy-going, with much of the day focused on the river itself. The Sadec Deck is a natural gathering place, where you’ll find a swimming pool and plenty of space to sit back with a drink while you watch rural villages, rice paddies and riverside towns drift by.
There’s also a Saigon Lounge & Bar, a comfortable indoor space with panoramic views where you can relax with a drink or a coffee. It’s a good spot to catch up with fellow passengers between excursions or simply enjoy the passing scenery in air-conditioned comfort.
Dining on RV Lotus has a focus on regional flavours and international choices served in a relaxed, inclusive setting. The main onboard restaurant - often referred to simply as the Mekong Restaurant - offers freshly prepared meals that draw on local Vientamese and Cambodian ingredients alongside familiar classics.
For a quiet drink or a casual coffee break, the Saigon Lounge & Bar is ideal, with views over the river that make it easy to unwind after a day ashore. There’s also Le Việt Nam Café, where you can enjoy espresso, light snacks and a relaxed atmosphere.
Complimentary local beers and wines are typically offered with lunch and dinner, giving a taste of the region as part of the dining experience.
Relaxation on RV Lotus is largely about enjoying the river and the scenery from comfortable spaces on board. The Sadec Deck pool provides a refreshing place to cool off, and the surrounding deck features reclining lounges perfect for stretching out with a book or simply taking in the river views.
Inside, the Saigon Lounge & Bar doubles as a quiet retreat, where you can relax with a drink, enjoy conversation with fellow guests or simply watch the river flow by through large windows. For those who like a bit of pampering, there’s also a spa area on board offering treatments that help you unwind after time spent exploring ashore.
RV Lotus sails along the iconic Mekong River, connecting two of Southeast Asia’s most fascinating countries: Vietnam and Cambodia. Throughout the cruise, you’ll encounter lush landscapes, small riverside communities and major cultural centres that reveal the region’s rich history and vibrant contemporary life.
