Planning to set sail on a cruise from Newcastle? If you’re driving to the port, arranging secure parking in advance is a great way to ensure peace of mind while you’re away. Whether it’s your very first sailing or you’re a regular cruiser, understanding how parking works at the Port of Tyne can help you enjoy a smooth, stress-free start to your holiday. Here’s everything you need to know about parking at Newcastle Cruise Terminal.

Newcastle Cruise Terminal Parking

Port of Tyne, International Passenger Terminal, Cobledene, North Shields, Tyne & Wear, NE29 6EE

Secure parking is available at the Port of Tyne’s International Passenger Terminal, just a short walk from both the ferry and cruise check-in areas. Clearly signposted on arrival, the car park offers a safe and convenient place to leave your vehicle while you travel. Parking cannot be booked directly with the Port of Tyne; instead, guests are advised to arrange it through their cruise line or booking agent. Pre-booking is strongly recommended, as spaces are limited and subject to availability. Once parked, it’s only a few minutes’ walk to the terminal, ensuring a smooth and stress-free start to your journey.

Top tips for a smooth parking experience

  1. Arrive early: To avoid rushing and to ensure a stress-free start to your holiday, we’d recommend arriving well in advance of your embarkation time.
  2. Follow directions: Familiarise yourself with directions ahead of time. GPS coordinates and signage will guide you seamlessly to your designated parking area.
  3. Prepare your documents: Have your booking confirmation, identification and cruise documents readily accessible upon arrival. This will speed up the check-in process and minimise delays.
  4. Secure your vehicle: Before leaving your car, make sure it’s securely parked and all valuables have been removed or stored out of sight.
  5. Take note of location: Make a mental note or snap a quick photo of your parking spot to easily locate your car upon return.
