Sally Gunnell OBE DL, former Olympic Champion has been named as godmother for Ambassador Cruise Lines first ship, Ambience. Sally is still the only woman to hold the World, Olympic, European, and Commonwealth Gold Medals at the same time.
Sally rose to fame in 1992 when she won Olympic Gold, after her athletic career ended due to injuries, she continued to work in TV covering athletic events around the world.
Today the 55-year-old mother of three, runs corporate well-being programmes and is a keynote speaker having written four influential books about health and well-being, which she attributes as the key to her athletic success.
Sally said Ambassador “Has a collection of brand values that resonate with me, from community and well-being, to being sustainable and ethical, we are all responsible for the seas we sail.”
The cruise lines chief executive, Christian Verhounig said, “We’re incredibly proud to have Sally as our first ship’s godmother. She is a wonderful advocate for the 50-plus market and her ambitious drive and dedication to achievement echoes Ambassador’s determination for expansion."
Ambassador Cruise Lines first ship Ambience will set sail on her maiden voyage on the 20th of April 2022 to Hamburg.
