After an extensive refurbishment, Fred Olsen’s Boudicca has reopened her ship doors once again.
After an extensive refit, Fred Olsen’s Boudicca cruise ship has reopened its ship doors to keen travellers once again. The refit, which began in March 2018, saw the ship undergo engineering works, general refurbishments and interior and exterior paintworks through Blohm+Voss.
As well as carrying out general works to the ship, one of the main focuses of the renovation included a vast refurbishment of all 462 rooms. Rooms were stripped of their furnishings and balconies and replaced with brand new amenities and décor, including additional mini-fridges, safes and smart TVs.
When it comes to the public guest spaces onboard, guests can expect an exciting makeover that includes some cultural influences from the Far East. Joining the popular food and drink venues like the including Four Seasons Restaurant, Lido Bar and The Gourmet Restaurant, guests will also get to enjoy two new additions: The Oriental Tea Room, which serves exotic teas and other specialities, and a stunning Indian Ocean Restaurant that offers an intimate dining space in place of the Heligan Room, similar in style to sister ship Black Watch’s Orchid Room.
As well as the addition of The Oriental Tea Room and Indian Ocean restaurant, the Morning Light Pub on Lounge Deck 6 has been moved to the portside of the Secret Garden Café, with the Oriental Tea Room taking its place. On Main Deck 5, the guest services area has also been revamped to be more ‘user-friendly’, offering a welcoming and inviting space for guests.
Mike Rodwell, Managing Director of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said in a press release:
“We are very proud of our smaller, classic cruise ships, and we recognise the importance of investment in upgrades and improvements to ensure that guests are always able to enjoy their holidays to the full.”
Although the ship has been through a dramatic refurbishment, it still maintains its exquisite charm and allure, offering an onboard experience to remember. Relax and unwind in the selection of pools and Jacuzzis, book a luxurious treatment in the spa or feel like royalty and dine at the formal Tintagel and Four Seasons restaurants. When you’re not off exploring ports and their unique cultural offerings, spend your evenings down at the Neptune Lounge, enjoying a variety of quality entertainment.
