Admire the views on an Alaskan cruise

Norwegian Cruise Line has released a video teaser for its new ship, the Norwegian Bliss. Featuring a luxury indoor observation platform, the ship will allow guests to enjoy 180-degree views over Alaska’s majestic mountains and fjords, without enduring the freezing temperatures.

The 167,800-ton ship was designed specifically for trips to Alaska, so that guests can look out for wildlife as well as admire the remarkable views. Passengers will have the same view as the captain does from the bridge and can relax in the deck’s stylish grey interior lounge, or order a drink at the quartz bar in the centre. This unique feature is a first for major cruise lines and will no doubt be a very popular choice.

Mural on the Norwegian Escape cruise liner

The spectacular cruise liner will hold just over 4,000 passengers. In true Norwegian Cruise Line fashion, the exterior will feature a mural on the hull. This one was commissioned to marine artist Wyland, famous for his depictions of whales, otters and other Alaskan wildlife.

Alaskan cruise holidays are becoming increasingly popular with those wishing to explore The Last Frontier. With the opportunity to gaze upon the state’s other-worldly landscapes and explore Alaska’s unique towns and cities, cruises are a convenient and exciting way to see it all.

Norwegian Bliss is currently being built in Germany and has scheduled its first journeys from the summer of 2018. Leaving Seattle, the cruise will venture to Ketchikan, Juneau, Skagway and Victoria in British Columbia.

For those seeking warmer temperatures, the Norwegian Bliss will also sail to the Caribbean from Miami from November 2018. The cruise will cover St. Thomas, Tortola and Nassau.
