Holland America Line is coming to a screen near you!
The cruise line will be featured in an exciting new docuseries airing soon on Channel 4. The eight-part television series is set to premiere at 8 pm on 3rd July 2025. The series aims to capture the experience on Holland America’s 2,700-guest Pinnacle Class ships, Rotterdam and Nieuw Statendam, over three voyages. The ships will be sailing to a range of stunning destinations, including the Panama Canal, the Caribbean, South America, the Canary Islands, and North Africa. The line’s first homeport season from Dover in a decade is also highlighted.
The series, produced by Crackit TV and narrated by actor Nick Brimble, shares a behind-the-scenes look at life onboard. Viewers will gain insight into what it takes to operate a cruise ship around the clock.
A variety of shore excursions also feature, as guests embark on a deep exploration of destinations across three continents.
Ever wondered what it’s like to be the captain of a cruise ship? Or how a culinary team ensures every dish is top quality? Episode one introduces a diverse cast of crew members, including Captain Eric Barhorst, as he oversees operations on Rotterdam’s Bridge while sailing through the Caribbean and Panama Canal. You’ll also meet Executive Chef Jundiel Marcelo and his 200-strong culinary team as they prepare to set sail aboard Nieuw Statendam from Dover.
You’ll watch as guests take full advantage of a range of thrilling shore excursions, including horse riding in the lagoon of RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay, Holland America’s private island in the Bahamas. In Madeira, a couple experiences a thrilling 2km basket sledge ride, where, under the supervision of highly trained locals known as ‘carreiros’, they steer the basket down steep, winding roads at speeds of up to 24 mph.
Karen Farndell, UK Director of Sales and Marketing at Holland America Line, said: “We can’t wait for the series to air next week and showcase everything that makes Holland America an unforgettable experience. All the highlights of travelling with us, both on and off our ships, are perfectly brought to life.”
