Debuting on January 3, 2020, this will be the newest and most luxurious ship on the Mekong river. Uniworld’s all-suite ship will include two dining venues: one main restaurant and an al fresco eatery on the upper deck. The Mekong Jewel will be 10 meters longer than the Mekong Navigator, but with the same capacity offering guests more space and amenities. The ship is being constructed with sustainable and eco-friendly materials, such as special paint used for the hull of the ship that creates less drag caused by bio-fueling, specially designed ship propellers that increase performance and efficiency, energy-efficient LED light fixtures, automatic air conditioning controls to optimize cooling resources, and water cooled air-conditioning system that will save energy. Uniworld River Cruises FAQs

Do I need a COVID-19 vaccine to travel aboard a Uniworld river cruise ship?

If travelling aboard one of Uniworld's sailings departing prior to 31st December 2022 all guests will be required to be fully vaccinated. Proof of vaccination will be required at the time of embarkation until further notice. Guests under 12 will be exempt but will need to provide a negative PCR or antigen test result taken within 72 hours of travel. 


What plug sockets are in my cabin?

Europe and Russia sailings: The European standard 220 volts with a 110v outlet in every stateroom and suite. ROL Cruise recommends taking an adapter plug with you.

Egypt and Peru sailings: Voltage is 220V/50HZ on board the ship and in hotels. You will need a three-pin adapter and possibly a voltage converter.

India sailings: Voltage is 220V/50HZ on board the ship and in hotels. On board the ship outlets that accommodate both 110V and 220V appliances are available in the suites. In the hotels you will need a three-pin adapter and possibly a voltage converter.

Vietnam and Cambodia: Voltage is 220V/50HZ on board the ship and in hotels. On board the ship outlets that accommodate both 110V and 220V appliances are available in the suites. Is there a dress code onboard?

The dress code on board is smart casual.

On shore, comfortable walking shoes are highly recommended.

Clothing will be determined by the climate and shore excursions. Please be advised that some shore excursions will visit temples or holy sites – guests will need to cover their shoulders and knees.


When can I book my shore excursions?

There are no accessible cabins on board, however all stateroom/suites have showers with handrails.


Are Uniworld river cruises able to cater to dietary needs/intolerances?

Uniworld can cater for most dietary requirements, please inform your ROL Cruise consultant of any dietary needs or allergies in advance so Uniworld can accommodate your needs.


Is Wi-Fi included on my Uniworld cruise?

Wi-Fi is complimentary on most sailings to Europe but cannot be guaranteed. It is not available on select Europe sailings, Egypt, India, Russia, Vietnam, Cambodia, Mekong or Peru sailings.


What is the baggage allowance on board?

Due to limited space on board, guests are permitted to bring one suitcase and 1 carry on, excess luggage will be subject to an excess baggage charge. If you are flying, you will need to check with the airline as they will have their own luggage restrictions.


Are gratuities included?

Gratuities are included for on board personnel. You may wish to tip ground staff, this is at your discretion.
