If your cruise starts in Spain and visits at least one port outside the EU, a 10% VAT will apply to food and beverage purchases while in Spanish ports and territorial waters. If your cruise starts in Spain and does not leave the EU, a 21% VAT will apply to retail purchases onboard and a 10% VAT will apply to food and beverage purchases onboard throughout the entire sailing. If your cruise starts outside of Spain, visits at least one port outside the EU, and includes Spain as a port of call, a 10% VAT will apply to food and beverage purchases onboard while in Spanish ports and territorial waters. If your cruise starts in Italy and does not leave the EU, a 22% VAT will apply to retail purchases onboard throughout the entire sailing. When sailing in U.S. ports or territorial waters, applicable sales tax will be added to food and beverage purchases made at that time.
