For the creation of Celebrity Flora, Celebrity Cruises followed in the footsteps of their revolutionary new ship, Celebrity Edge, by designing the ship in 3D. This allowed the expert design team to truly immerse themselves in every aspect of the ships design process, from its luxurious suites to the sustainable materials that have been incorporated into the build to ensure it meets the highest of environmental standards. Even if you are fortunate enough to have experienced the joys of taking a luxury cruise before, we are sure you will be impressed by the ground-breaking innovation that went into this incredible ship’s conception.
The ambitious idea behind the design of Celebrity Flora was to create a ship that allows its guests to really experience the Galapagos Islands. Of course, every cruise offers its passengers the chance to explore their destination but very few – if any – can do so to the same extent as Celebrity Flora.
In their quest to remove the traditional boundaries between cruise passenger and destination was Celebrity Cruises’ decision to, wherever possible, direct every space on the ship outwards. This means that you will enjoy the unique experience of feeling completely connected to the ocean and islands you are travelling, even when relaxing in your bedrooms and bathrooms.
Every guest on Celebrity Flora is a suite guest and will enjoy premium services and amenities including a welcome bottle of Champagne, room service (available 24/7), a complimentary mini bar with beer, soda and water, unlimited access to Wi-Fi, a pillow menu and 100% pure cotton linens. As well as a personal suite attendant, 100% cotton bath towels and bathrobes, bedroom slippers, luxury bath amenities, laundry service, fresh fruit and in-suite filtered water station.
Glamping at Sea
To allow guests to connect with the destination more than ever, Celebrity Cruises have introduced the first-ever glamping experience at sea. The extraordinary evening allows guests to camp on the top deck where they can stargaze on a cabana, sleep under the stars on a double bed and enjoy a delicious meal alfresco. To allow guests to fully immerse themselves in this experience, a naturalist will attend highlighting the stars and visible constellations. This once in a lifetime experience will come to an end in the morning with bedside breakfast during the beautiful sunrise over the Galapagos.
Positioned on Deck 4, Seaside Restaurant is the main dining option and is available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both sides of the restaurant have floor to ceiling windows, so stunning vistas are visible from wherever you’re seated. Every meal is open seating; breakfast and lunch are buffet style while dinner is a mix of Ecuadorian and Galapagos-inspired dishes waiter-served.
Ocean Grill, located on Deck 7, is a casual outdoor option offering simple items for lunch and dinner. Twice per sailing, Ocean Grill becomes a main dining option with a seafood buffet, Dinner Under the Stars.
Typically, days are spent at shore though activities are dictated by which of the islands you’re visiting. Shore excursions, all of which are included, are picked the night before. Tours are limited to 12 people and each has a dedicated naturalist guide to lead it.
Of course, a large part of visiting the Galapagos Islands is immersing yourself in the local environment. The islands are one of the world’s greatest places for viewing wildlife and depending on the season you’ll spot hundreds of sea lions, albatross, blue footed boobies, birds and a wide variety of sea life.
Life on board Celebrity Flora is truly enriching and there is plenty of opportunity to learn more about the destinations you visit. Formal presentations take place in the Discovery Lounge, demonstrations are available in the science lab and guides are always available to speak to in the Naturalists Lounge.
