There are a range of cabin options aboard MS Nordnorge which are split into four categories: Expedition Suites, Arctic Superior, Polar Outside and Polar Inside.
The Expedition Suites are situated on both Deck 5 and Deck 6 and are the most spacious accommodation available on MS Nordnorge. Each suite has a small lounge area, adjacent to the bedroom, that features a TV and comfortable seating.
Arctic Superior and Polar Outside cabins are larger than interior cabins. There are four ocean view cabins on Deck 3 that can interconnect, a great option for families. Most cabins have double beds though there are some available that sleep three people.
Polar Inside cabins are located on Deck 3, though a few can also be found on Deck 5 and Deck 6. The majority of Polar Inside cabins accommodate at least two people in double beds, bunk beds, single beds or sofas. Several of these cabins also have a third bed that converts into a sofa for daytime seating.
The food on board MS Nordnorge is truly exquisite. Torget is the Main Dining area where breakfast, lunch and dinner are served daily. Torget offers both a set menu (though only available on certain days) and a buffet, choose from a delicious range of dishes created using only the very best local, seasonal ingredients.
Kysten is MS Nordnorge’s fine dining option. With its smart décor and beautiful white tablecloths, Kysten offers an á la carte menu with king crab as the speciality. Adjacent to Kysten is Brygga Bistro offering informal, quick bites (such as hamburgers, sandwiches, pizzas etc.) and is primarily frequented by guests who are not on a full board basis.
Multe Bakery, located on Deck 7, is a bakery and ice-cream parlour. With open sandwiches, freshly baked cakes and pastries and drinks (hot, cold, alcoholic and non-alcoholic), Multe is a fantastic relaxed option. Following a few hours at shore, visit Multe for traditional Norwegian apple pie and warming hot chocolate.
Not forgetting the ice cream – there are plenty of regular flavours to enjoy but for the more adventurous Multe offers stockfish, brown cheese and cloudberry ice cream. Are you brave enough?
The ever-changing landscape is the special allure on MS Nordnorge¸ which explains why the Explorer Lounge and Panorama Bar is one of the most popular public areas on the ship. With its panoramic views and comfortable 360-degree swivel chairs, it is the perfect spot for relaxing following a day of exciting excursions.
Head to the fitness room to work off the apple pie and hot chocolate, relax in the hot tub or sweat it out in the sauna. Or, watch the world go by on the explorer deck - the perfect spot for raising your binoculars and scanning the passing fjords and islands.
Kompass, on Deck 4, is home to the adventure reception where you can book your shore excursions or simply ask for information, an extensive shop (with plenty of waterproofs and thermals, in case you’ve forgotten them!) and the post office.
MS Nordnorge has her own on board Expedition Team who serve as a university at sea. Interesting lectures, presentations and activities take place both inside in the lecture halls and outside on the explorer deck. Topics of lectures and presentation programmes depend on the time of the year and the waters MS Nordnorge sail in but expect to learn all about the Norwegian way of life on a cruise to Norway.
Out on deck you can participate in live points of interest and learn more about the nature, culture and other phenomena that is waiting to be discovered along the coast. The dedicated Expedition Team has one mission: to enhance your experience by engaging you and interpreting the nature, wildlife and culture encountered during the voyage.
