Overview of Iona

Iona is the first British cruise ship to be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). As the greenest, largest and most innovative ship in the P&O Cruises fleet, Iona’s impressive design sets her apart. She delivers the ability to bring the outside in, meaning guests can connect to the sea, sky and shoreline like never before.

On board experience

Accommodation

Iona’s Conservatory Mini Suites bring the outdoors in with a personal and versatile conservatory-style room that forms an extension to the cabin. The area, which includes stylish L-shaped seating, can be closed off or left open according to the time of day. With a direct connection to the sea, the conservatory-style room is cool and shaded, making it perfect for relaxing.

Suites are always special but on Iona they are exemplary. Taking comfort and style to another level, the design direction is one of contemporary comfort and elegance. A luxurious space is created as the doors of interconnecting rooms open fully to create a larger, brighter studio ambience.

Dining

There are lots of exciting dining options on Iona that combine brand-new dining and drinking concepts with much-loved signature venues - giving new meaning to the word choice. Like The Quays, an exciting foodie piazza offering a great range of self-service and takeaway venues and a lively atmosphere for sociable dining. Here, you’ll find a host of new dining venues showcasing cuisines from around the world such as American diner classics to Asian fast food.

The Keel and Cow, another foodie first, is a fabulous British gastropub serving hearty pub fare. The 710 Club serves up live music and stylish cocktails, the perfect combination to let the good times roll long into the night.

Created by award-winning wine expert and P&O Cruises Food Hero Olly Smith, The Glass House is for lovers of fine wine and great food. The premium wine bar boasts an impressive wine list curated by Smith and offers a sophisticated environment in which to enjoy breakfast, a light lunch, a leisurely glass of wine or an evening meal. Wine connoisseurs are well taken care of - Cellar Door at The Glass House offers wine talks, tastings and wine-pairing dinners.

Of course, it’s not just bout the new. Iona also celebrates the best P&O Cruises dining and drinking traditions with favourites such as Brodie’s, The Crow’s Nest, The Epicurean, Sindhu and The Beach House along with pool bars, a pizzeria and a grill.

Entertainment

It’s all about the music at The 710 Club, a secret haven exclusively for adults in which to relax and enjoy the musical atmosphere. A retreat during the day, at night The 710 Club transforms into a sophisticated venue hosting a diverse range of top-class singers and bands.

One for the film buffs, Ocean Studios on Deck 6 offers a warm welcome, comfortable seating and a relaxing environment in which to be entertained and enjoy a premium cinema experience. Four cinema screens will show both classics and recent blockbusters in surround sound.

A major new entertainment venue, SkyDome is one of Iona’s star attractions. Set on Decks 16 and 17 and featuring an impressive roof and a pool with a retractable stage, it offers a unique space whatever the weather and time of day. By day it’s the perfect place for relaxation and informal dining, with a swimming pool, whirlpool spa and poolside features and shaded seating areas. At night it comes alive with aerial performances, immersive shows and deck parties. Above it all is a glazed dome roof designed by award-winning British engineers Eckersley O’Callaghan, the team behind glass masterpieces including Embassy Gardens Sky Pool in London and Bulgari’s flagship boutique in New York.

For the evening, Headliners Theatre is perfect for a fun-filled night out on board. Classic yet contemporary, it offers a sleek and sophisticated theatre experience. A two-deck-high auditorium ensures everyone has the best view in the house. During the day, enjoy matinee performances and activities and when night falls, prepare for full-scale productions to hit the stage.

Destinations

For the first part of her maiden season, Iona will be discovering the crystal clear waters of the Norwegian Fjords. Offering a wealth of beautiful vistas, cultural gems and thrilling adventures, Norway’s fjords appeal to many travellers.
