There is something truly special about boarding a cruise ship in full, beaming sunshine, and Malaga gave us exactly that. As we walked up the gangway onto Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ Seven Seas Mariner, we were greeted by smiling crew members, which instantly set the tone as relaxed, welcoming, and undeniably luxurious.

With a glass of bubbles in hand, we set off on a tour of the ship. As we walked through each deck, I couldn’t help but notice how spotless and airy Seven Seas Mariner felt. The newly refurbished suites were the first thing to catch my eye. Bright and beautifully styled, they feel like the kind of space where you can’t wait to unpack and settle in. I absolutely loved the Horizon Suite, which boasts breathtaking views over the aft of the ship. I could definitely picture myself here, sipping morning coffee, enjoying sunset cocktails, or simply watching the ocean drift by.

Lunch was served in Compass Rose, and it was delicious. I can only imagine how the restaurant must feel in the evening, buzzing with conversation from guests returning after a gorgeous day in port, and of course, the service just as attentive as ever.

Up on the Sun Deck, the pool area looked pristine with fresh towels neatly rolled and loungers spaced out comfortably. The crew around the deck is always ready to help with a smile.

We were lucky enough to meet the onboard sales agent, who was incredibly passionate and eager to help guests plan their next adventure. It’s great to see the staff are just as excited about the experience as the guests. The passion to ensure that guests have the best possible experience was evident.

One of the little things that really stood out to me was the famous Regent teddy bear you’ll often find in the suites. We learnt that years ago, a guest was searching for a teddy bear to bring home to a sick family member. When her cabin steward heard, he quietly went out, purchased one himself, and placed it in her suite as a surprise. This simple gesture perfectly shows the heart of the crew. On Regent, the details are handled with a level of care that you feel in everything they do.

Seven Seas Mariner made a fantastic impression with beautiful spaces, a vibrant atmosphere, and a caring crew who always go above and beyond for guests. I can’t wait to hear from others who will get to see her new and improved version for an unforgettable time on board.
