The voyage by land, rail and sea combines tropical islands, colonial cities, scenic coastal destinations and one of the great engineering marvels of the world, making it an appealing route for travellers seeking a varied and destination-focused cruise experience.
The holiday includes flights and transfers, gratuities, Wi-Fi, full-board dining and Oceania’s renowned culinary programme. With just 670 guests, Insignia offers a more intimate atmosphere than larger cruise ships, with multiple dining venues, lounges, entertainment options and spa facilities. Highlights include extended time in culturally rich ports such as Cartagena and Guayaquil, Christmas Day in Colombia, and a New Year’s Eve call in Ecuador. The cruise is designed for travellers who enjoy a relaxed, upscale experience with a strong emphasis on food, service and immersive port visits rather than large-ship attractions.

The nine-night land tour in Peru is the real highlight of this package, combining iconic Inca sites with two of South America's most luxurious rail journeys. After disembarking in Lima, you'll fly to Cusco and spend two nights in the beautiful Sacred Valley, visiting the colourful market town of Pisac and the impressive Inca fortress of Ollantaytambo. From there, you'll travel aboard the luxury Belmond Hiram Bingham train to the legendary lost city of Machu Picchu, where a guided tour explores its temples, terraces and remarkably preserved stone structures.

The tour then continues with a full day in Cusco, including the vast Inca site of Sacsayhuamán, the cathedral and the historic Santo Domingo Monastery. A major feature is a two-night journey aboard the luxury Belmond Andean Explorer, South America's only luxury sleeper train. Travelling through the Andes towards Arequipa, you'll visit the ancient site of Raqchi, cross high mountain passes, and enjoy excursions on Lake Titicaca, including the floating Uros reed islands and Taquile Island.

The final part of the tour explores Arequipa, often considered Peru's most beautiful colonial city. Highlights include the remarkable Santa Catalina Monastery and the fascinating Museum of Andean Sanctuaries, home to the famous Ice Maiden mummy. The trip concludes with two nights in Lima, giving time to enjoy Peru's renowned food scene, historic centre and coastal districts before flying home. Throughout, the tour includes luxury hotels, internal flights, guided sightseeing and rail travel, making it a comprehensive introduction to Peru's history, culture and spectacular Andean landscapes.
