Excellent service

18 Oct 2018

Yes I would recommend ROL cruise for their excellent service not only on our original booking but with our transfer of 2020 cruise to 2019.

Well worth the telephone call.

18 Oct 2018

The cruise we inquired about was booked with no problems, all our queries were solved. Having dealt with Readers Offers in the past I knew I would get satisfaction.

Great service

As always very pleasant efficient service

17 Oct 2018

Spoke to Auden who quickly and efficiently dealt with my booking suggesting the better cabin. Paperwork came by email straight away.

excellent experience

17 Oct 2018

John was more than thoughtful. He explained everything to me so carefully, wanting me to understand everything thoroughly, which I do, even though the cruise I booked is just under 2 years away! The information I received as a result by e-mail confirms everything so clearly including about visas. It is our first time with P & O and we also had a welcoming e-mail from them which we haven't experienced before. We are going with a different cruise line in January and they were most unhelpful when it came to questions I needed to know about the destinations and visas. What a refreshing difference. It's all down to training, I believe, and ROL employees at whatever level, have always been helpful whenever we have booked with them in the past.

Great

17 Oct 2018

All I needed to know

17 Oct 2018

    Day 1

    Bridgetown, Barbados

    26 Nov 2018

Though technically located in the Atlantic Ocean, this popular Caribbean island is the most easterly of the Lesser Antilles archipelago and a Commonwealth realm.

  • St. Georges, Grenada

    Day 2

    St. Georges, Grenada

    27 Nov 2018

A faint aroma of cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves and other spices lingers over Grenada's fertile lands. Often called the "Spice Island", Grenada has a lot more to offer than just spices. St. George's, the picturesque, small capital with terraces of pale, colour-washed houses and cheerful red roofs, has long enjoyed the reputation of having the prettiest harbour in the Caribbean. Established in 1705 by French settlers, who called it Fort Royal, much of the town's present-day charm results from the blend of two colonial cultures with a Caribbean atmosphere. The colonial heritage is reflected in remaining 18th-century French provincial houses and fine examples of English Georgian architecture. Around the island, the scenery is equally appealing: the mountainous interior rises from a generally rugged coast, which in part is blessed with dazzling white beaches. Due to its compact size, Grenada can be easily explored, even on just a one-day visit.

    Roseau, Dominica

    29 Nov 2018

To fully appreciate the island's unspoiled beauty, a trip into the interior is a must. A good part of Dominica's mountainous terrain is covered with dense evergreen rain forest, where rare plants and animals are still found that have long been extinct on neighboring islands. The Smithsonian Institute called the island a giant plant laboratory, unchanged for 10,000 years. Numerous hot springs bear witness to continuing volcanic activity. Dominica is truly a place to discover nature in all her splendor. But it is not an island for those looking for white sand beaches. Around the mouth of rivers and in sheltered bays, the beaches are pebbly and of dark color.

    St Johns, Antigua

    30 Nov 2018

With its white sand beaches, glimmering blue seas and laid-back locals, Antigua is a quintessentially Caribbean island. Destination guide

  • Basseterre, St Kitts

    Day 6-7

    Basseterre, St Kitts

    01 Dec 2018 to 02 Dec 2018

Columbus discovered St. Kitts (short for St. Christopher) and Nevis on his second voyage in 1493. Arawak and Carib Indians who had moved up through the islands from South America already inhabited both islands. While European immigrants massacred many of them, the Caribs continued to stage fierce battles, which became legendary. In 1632, the West Indies' first British settlement was established on the island, which soon developed into an important colony thanks to its sugar industry. France and England shared St. Kitts for some time, but the partition ended with the Peace of Utrecht in 1713. After being declared a British colony in 1783, St. Kitts and Nevis, along with Anguilla and the British Virgin Islands, were administered as a single colony until 1871 when the Leeward Islands Federation was formed. This continued up to 1957 when St. Kitts and Nevis were granted self-government, with Britain remaining responsible for external affairs and defense. Both islands became an independent state within the Commonwealth in 1983. Basseterre, St. Kitts' capital, still shows signs of colonial architecture. However, its setting against the emerald green hills ensures a distinct Caribbean ambiance. Many travelers agree that Basseterre is one of the prettiest of the Caribbean's small capitals.

  • Gustavia

    Day 7

    Gustavia

    02 Dec 2018

The island's size makes it possible to get a good introduction as well as enjoy a variety of outdoor activities and discover the attractions of Gustavia, the island's tiny capital located around a magnificent harbour. As a reminder of its past as a Swedish colony some of the street signs still show names both in French and Swedish. In 1784, the French traded the island to Sweden's King Gustav III in exchange for port rights in Göteborg. He named the small town Gustavia, laid out and paved streets, built three forts and turned the island's capital into a prosperous free port. After a succession of earthquakes, fires and hurricanes Gustavia's fortunes declined. In 1878 France agreed to repurchase its former colony and incorporate the island into the French West Indies as a Dependency of Guadeloupe. Today, the quaint, charming capital of Gustavia is once again a favourite spot frequented by chic residents and visitors.

  • Day 8

Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands

    03 Dec 2018

The archipelago of the British Virgin Islands, commonly known as B.V.I., numbers more than 60 islands, of which only about 16 are inhabited. Discovered by Columbus in 1493, the first settlers were Spanish and Dutch planters, followed by the British in the 17th century. Tortola became notorious as the haunt of buccaneers; nearby Norman Island is said to have provided the inspiration for Robert Louis Stevenson's Treasure Island. Approximately 80 percent of the population lives on Tortola, the largest island in the archipelago. The capital, Road Town, is the administrative and business centre of the B.V.I. Its Main Street features typical island-style buildings. Banks, government offices and a small craft village are built on filled land, named Wickhams Cay.

  • San Juan, Puerto Rico

    Day 9

    San Juan, Puerto Rico

    04 Dec 2018

Puerto Rico has been voluntarily associated with the United States since Spain ceded it in 1898. In 1952, this island country became a self-governing Commonwealth of the United States. The capital, San Juan, is a teeming city of 500,000. Remnants of colonial architecture stand side by side with the most modern high-rises in this city of contrasts. The 7-square-block area that contains the historic zone of Old San Juan was once completely encircled by city walls and is still guarded by the impressive forts El Morro and San Cristobal, which loom over the harbour as reminders of the centuries of Spanish rule. The El Yunque Rain Forest, on the north-eastern side of the island, is just one of many distinctive geographical features found here. Mountain lakes, waterfalls, teak forests and La Parguera's Phosphorescent Bay offer the visitor a variety of diversions.
