Allow Empress of the Seas to be your host vessel for a relaxed and enjoyable voyage, with the exceptional service you would expect from a Royal Caribbean International cruise. With lively entertainment at Bolero’s Latin Lounge, daily Sunday brunches, a pool-side DJ and much more, every day is a fiesta on board this incredible ship.
Recently returned to Royal Caribbean International following a $50million renovation, Empress of the Seas is the liner’s smallest ship, but still offering guests uncrowded public spaces and personalised service. Unlike the rest of the fleet, you won’t find flashy on-board facilities such as skydiving simulators or zip lines on Empress of the Seas. Instead, she offers her 1,602 guests new and exciting features such as a daily Sunday Brunch with complimentary Bloody Marys and Mimosas, and Plunge, the exciting pool-side party.
The ship's 2016 revitalization oversaw the installation of new furnishings across her range of suites and staterooms. Stay close to the heart of the action in an Interior Stateroom, which range in size from 109 to 131 square feet and include two twin beds that may be converted to a Royal King size bed if desired. Ocean-view Staterooms range from 111 – 206 square feet and also include a pullman bed to accommodate one additional guest. Three different types of suite include sixty-three Junior Suites with Balcony, five Owner’s Suites with Balcony, and one Royal Suite with Balcony. Guests staying in the latter two categories benefit from an exclusive complimentary concierge service.
The Starlight Dining Room has a grand, regal atmosphere with marble staircases and live piano music to really enhance the sense of occasion. A full breakfast buffet awaits guests each morning, with options to suit all tastes - including steak and eggs, French toast, pancakes, eggs benedict, pastries and fresh fruit. This is also the venue for the fabulous new brunch offering, which, alongside an extensive and delicious array of food, features bottomless Mimosas and Bloody Marys at no extra cost. For dinner, guests may take advantage of a range of reservation options – the ‘My Time Dining’ concept, which enables guests to reserve a time of their choice to eat, a traditional cruise ship dining experience comprising either early of late sittings or simply showing up when and where the mood strikes!
The Windjammer, Royal Caribbean International’s signature buffet venue, has both indoor and outdoor window-lined dining adjacent to the pool area, thus offering great food with an equally impressive view. Dining in both the Starlight Dining Room and the Windjammer are complementary.
Indulge your taste buds with juicy steaks, fresh seafood, delicious sides and delightful desserts at the stylish Chops Grille, brand new to Empress of the Seas. This popular speciality restaurant is sure to satisfy with a revamped menu that brings contemporary flair to traditional steakhouse offerings. Don’t miss the renowned dry-aged NY strip and porterhouse steaks, featuring a particular dry-aging process found only at select steakhouses worldwide and for the first time at sea with Royal Caribbean International's Chops Grille.
When nothing but a warm, speciality coffee will do, head to the Boleros Lounge where you will find aromatic Cuban coffee served in the Café Royal.
The Royal Theatre is a dazzling, two-deck theatre featuring marble stairs, a curved balcony and glass cocktail tables. The theatre hosts captivating performances each night, with talented comedy acts, glitzy ballroom dancers, toe-tapping musicals and world-class musicians taking to the stage. For those looking for additional excitement, Royal Caribbean International’s renowned adult-only scavenger hunt, Quest, is an unforgettably hilarious experience that will be the topic of conversations for years to come.
The cruise director and entertainment crew ensure there are plenty of ways to fill your days at sea, from dance classes to napkin-folding lessons, health seminars and line dancing by the pool. For some friendly competition amongst guests, the crew regularly host shuffleboard challenges, head-scratching quizzes, belly-flop contests and speed climbs up the rock wall.
At night, the many bars and lounges are popular locations for socialising, enjoying a classic cocktail and soaking up the ambient sounds of live music. The bartenders at the traditional, nautical-themed Schooner Bar can whip up almost any drink imaginable, whilst the new Cuban-themed bar and lounge, Boleros, is the lively setting for karaoke, tequila tastings and Latin dance classes. The Viking Crown Lounge is the ship’s dance club each evening - complete with glittering disco ball - and is the place to be if you like to “bust a move” to irresistible beats.
For a fun and sophisticated evening, try your hand at blackjack, or tempt Lady Luck on the roulette wheel in the casino. A variety of table games and slot machines provide plenty of chances to roll the dice.
Whether you prefer to take a dip or simply stretch out in the sun, the on-board swimming pools will never fail to delight. Experience that weekend feeling everyday with Plunge, a DJ-driven pool party to rival the greatest celebrations. For a tranquil retreat, the adults-only solarium is the perfect place to settle back with a book, take a gentle swim, or simply enjoy the sun shining through the stunning glass-domed roof.
The Vitality Spa is a tranquil setting to indulge in well-deserved pampering and rejuvenating treatments. Massages, facials, wraps and acupuncture will soothe and relax your body and your mind, while medi-spa treatments help to smooth, lift and tone. The specialist hair and nail salon will ensure you look and feel your best.
There’s no reason to miss a workout during your cruise with ready access to the ship’s well-equipped fitness centre, providing treadmills, bicycles, weight lifting equipment and machines. If you prefer group exercise, professionally-led classes are also available, including Pilates, body sculpting sessions and even yoga on the beach at select destinations.
