Victoria Falls - Your two night stay at the Victoria Falls Hotel

The spectacular Victoria Falls were ‘discovered’ and named by David Livingstone in 1855. One of the 7 wonders of the world, the falls thundering water leaps over the edge of the gorge into a transverse chasm of black basalt rock nearly 108 metres below, sending up great clouds of mist that drift gently down to water the luxuriant rain forest. Although not the widest or tallest waterfalls, the Victoria Falls forms the largest falling sheet of water in the world with up to half a million tons of water pouring over every minute generating a spray cloud that can rise to 500 metres above the falls.

The luxurious Victoria Falls Hotel is located amongst lush tropical gardens inside the Victoria Falls National Park. A member of the prestigious, invitation-only The Leading Hotels of the World, The Victoria Falls Hotel is renowned for impeccable service, luxurious accommodation and exceptional facilities.

Built in 1904, the Edwardian-style hotel was splendidly redecorated in 2013 to combine its traditional majesty with modern sophistication. For more than 110 years The Victoria Falls Hotel has been a luxury icon in Africa.

This iconic establishment was named after Queen Victoria and her son, Prince Alfred who played an intrinsic role in the establishment of the Breakwater Basin, now the V&A Waterfront. The hotel is located in the very heart of this internationally acclaimed destination and is a sophisticated retreat amid the buzz. It offers some of the most enviable views of Cape Town Harbour, Table Mountain and the slick city that stretches out at the foot of this Natural Wonder.

During your stay at the Victoria & Alfred Hotel, you will enjoy a Welcome Dinner at GOLD Restaurant. With a three course set dinner menu of Cape Malay cuisine; what better way to begin your adventure than with a true taste of Africa.

Chobe National Park

The Chobe National Park covers 10,566 square kilometres, and has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience of a lifetime. The park is divided into four distinctly different eco systems: Serondela with its lush plains and dense forests in the Chobe River area in the extreme north-east; the Savuti Marsh in the west; the Linyanti Swamps in the north-west and the hot dry hinterland in between.

Chobe Game Lodge is Botswana’s most exclusive safari resort, situated in the remote and unspoilt northern extremity of the Park. The architecture is Moorish and graceful high arches, barrel-vault ceilings and tiled floors create an atmosphere of spaciousness and tranquillity. All 45 rooms are tastefully furnished and cooled by overhead punkah-punkah fans. For the connoisseur of luxury, there are four private suites each with individual swimming pools and outside garden patio. All rooms overlook the perennial Chobe River and adjacent Caprivi floodplain. Facilities within the lodge include a well-stocked curio shop, wildlife reference library and stylishly decorated Linyanti bar and lounge area.
