EXPEDITION LANDINGS IN ANTARCTICA
BRAND NEW SHIP*
We are delighted here at ROL Cruise to present to you this fantastic opportunity to sail aboard the BRAND NEW MS Fridtjof Nansen, and unveil to you her Maiden Season of Antarctica and the Falkland Islands.
Travel in style and be one of the first to book on board MS Fridtjof Nansen, discovering the white continent in all its glory. Expertly packaged by our team here at ROL Cruise, with you in mind, these incredible itineraries will excite, amaze and fascinate you, offering a once in a lifetime adventure to see the mesmerising wildlife of the southern hemisphere, sometimes up close. Experience Antarctica, Patagonia, the Falklands and South America, all aboard this incredible new Hurtigruten ship.
For 2019, Hurtigruten will add a brand new ship to its fleet: the MS Fridtjof Nansen. The stunning scenery will be reflected in a rich and comfortable interior design. Natural materials from Scandinavia, such as granite, oak, birch and wool will be used to create relaxed and stylish cabins, with 50% having private balconies, and aft suites will feature private outdoor Jacuzzis with spectacular views.
The core of the on board experience is the Nansen Science Center, an edutainment venue where guests and crew meet to create a deeper understanding of the areas you explore.
MS Fridtjof Nansen’s three restaurants will host a variety of dining options, with menus drawn from Hurtigruten’s rich Norwegian and Nordic tradition, as well as international cuisine and local inspiration.
After a day of exploring new destinations, relax and rejuvenate in the elegant Explorer Lounge, a large gym and Wellness centre, or enjoy the scenery and sunsets on the massive in and outdoor Observation Decks with the aft infinity pool and jacuzzis being some of the highlights.
Norwegians have been explorers for as long as they can remember. They had to be: to survive they were forced to climb mountains, row across Fjords and sail across oceans.
As soon as you step on board you will notice their heritage: artefacts and works of art underline their rich history, whilst the ships unpretentious yet comfortable decor convey the warmth you will feel from the Hurtigruten staff during your journey. What’s more, the ships’ modest size allows you to get closer to authentic Antarctica.
Get Close. Real Close
The Southern Ocean is drama on a grand scale in which the struggle for survival is constant. The unending, white wilderness of this continent is full of fantastic sights and sounds. There are more penguins, and penguin species, here than anywhere else on Earth. Elephant and Fur seals, Minke whales, large flocks of sea birds – not forgetting the wandering Albatross – give life to this surreal and beautiful landscape.
Your Expedition Team
Each expedition voyage is accompanied by a hand-picked team of specialists and modern-day explorers. Highly experienced, passionate and knowledgeable, the Expedition Team will be your guides and guardians on your voyage of exploration, instructing you on safety, sustainability and science. MS Fridtjof Nansen will feature a variety of custom built expedition equipment, including kayaks, a fleet of Blueye underwater drones and Expedition Boats for safe landings in remote areas.
