Since its launch in 1994, Silversea has welcomed almost half a million guests. The brand is recognised for its signature comfort and Silver Origin is no different. Silversea’s has taken what they’ve learned from their guests over the years and created the most elegant ship and most refined experience in the entire archipelago, only possible thanks to the history and legacy of Silversea in providing the best in luxury cruising.
Silver Origin offers guests all-suite accommodation with private verandas, personalised service with the highest crew-to-guest ratio in the Galápagos (1:1.11) and a butler service for every single suite. In each suite you’ll find a pillow menu, expedition gear and local amenities.
Gourmet dining is available in two full-capacity restaurants, for both indoor and outdoor culinary experiences. If you prefer, 24-hour room service and in-suite dining is on offer too. Beverages are all-inclusive throughout the ship, including select wines, premium spirits and much, much more.
In 1835, Charles Darwin landed in the Galápagos Islands. As part of a five-year expedition, he was hoping to find an active volcano. Instead, he discovered birds and animals that had adapted to the different island environments in which they lived.
For five years, Silversea’s has been travelling to the islands with the rare opportunity to understand how to make travel here special. For their guests, luxury cruising to the Galápagos is about much more than the utmost in comfort, style and service – it is about living sustainably, recognising the authentic character of the Galápagos and paying careful attention to the needs of its inhabitants.
On Silver Origin you’ll find innovative venues designed to extend the destination experience, such as Basecamp – a “knowledge lounge” featuring a wealth of materials and tools that provide you with inside knowledge. Floor-to-ceiling windows, Horizon Balcony’s and ocean-view bathroom features provide stunning views of the Galápagos.
Silver Origin has the largest Expedition Team of expert guides certified by the National Park of the Galápagos meaning you can learn everything you so wish during your cruise. The qualified guides – more per guest than any ship in the area – are available at any time during your stay meaning any questions can be answered.
To enhance your destination experience even further on board, top Ecuadorian chefs create authentic Ecuadorian cuisines with the freshest local ingredients.
It is incredibly important to protect the Galápagos Islands fragile ecosystem and leave it as untouched as possible, while contributing to its preservation. Which is why Silver Origin has been designed with the environment in mind. State-of-the-art technology designed specifically for the Galápagos in the form of a dynamic positioning system automatically keeps the ship stationery to protect the seabed meaning the ship’s footprint is minimal.
All suites feature a fresh water purification system and eco-friendly water bottles, significantly reducing plastic bottle usage.
