The world’s finest ships and most celebrated trains, here’s our selection of the most scenic cruise and rail journeys:

Indian Pacific Train, Australia

Indian Pacific

One of the few truly transcontinental trains in the world, Indian Pacific will whisk you between Perth, Adelaide and Sydney in both comfort and style. The very first Indian Pacific service left Sydney on 23rd February 1970, becoming the first direct train to cross the Australian continent. To this day it traverses the longest stretch of straight railway track in the world, a 478 kilometre stretch of the Trans-Australian Railway over the Nullarbor Plain.

There’s no better way to experience the spectacular interior landscape of Australia than by the romance of rail, there are three Indian Pacific journeys for you to choose from. Sydney to Perth (or vice versa) is a fabled journey enabling you to follow the path of bush pioneers, gold rush prospectors and legendary adventurers as you make an epic transcontinental crossing aboard the Indian Pacific. Sydney to Adelaide (or vice versa) takes you from the mountains to the sparkling coast, meaning you can discover a world of wonders as you travel between the two amazing cities. Adelaide to Perth (or vice versa) provides the opportunity to experience the tremendous beauty of the Nullarbor on this epic three day, two night journey.
