Some of South America’s best beaches

Manta lies in the Province of Manabí and is home to some of the best beaches in South America. Possessing one of the largest seaports in Ecuador, dating back to the 16th century! Located in a dry forest covered area, when visiting Manta you get the best of both worlds. With the deep depths of the rainforest to the white, long sandy beaches that lie to the west of the city. A visit here isn’t complete without a hike to the Machalilla National Park, home to vibrant, leafy vegetation and hidden beaches only found by the seekers of this unspoilt parkland.

The great Galapagos

This cluster of UNESCO World Heritage islands lies just of the west coast of Ecuador and remains a part of its republic to this day. The Galapagos is made up of 18 main islands, each home to exotic animals impossible to see elsewhere on the globe. Hop on board the Silver Galapagos and adventure around Bahia Elizabeth and Caleta Tagus to witness the beauty of the vibrant marine life, grab a kayak and float amongst sea turtles and marine iguanas or head underwater with a snorkel to get up close and personal with the Galapagos penguins.

Food for thought

There is no surprise that Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands serve up some of the freshest seafood in South America. Frequent dishes resemble those you may expect to see across the rest of the continent, plantain, fried dumplings, potatoes and grains are frequently on the menu of restaurants across the country. Many exotic fruits are shipped from Ecuador to the Galapagos Islands to many of the luxury hotels and restaurants.

Enjoy some evening entertainment

The vibrant culture of the South American way of life is abundant when exploring the main streets of Manta. Popular attractions include the Banco Central Museum, situated in the vibrant hub of Manta, the International Theater Festival which is hosted by the city every September. Not to mention the general hustle and bustle of European tourists looking to explore the unique and fascinating location.
