Discover a real maritime experience while on board one of Cruise and Maritime Voyage’s floating country house style cruise ships, offering comfortable and spacious surroundings with several public areas to enjoy. Ships vary from small to mid-size and cater for between 550 – 1,400 guests. The fleet consists of six classically styled vessels, including Astoria, Columbus (which replaced Magellan as the line’s flagship in April 2017), Magellan, MS Marco Polo and Vasco da Gama.
Astoria and MS Marco Polo operate as adult-only ships – perfect in the summer holidays for those that like to relax in a child-free environment. Alternatively, Magellan and Columbus now offer a small number of multi-generational cruises, so there’s plenty of reasons to bring the whole family along and spend some quality time together at sea.
Cruise and Maritime entertainment
With a range of facilities and action packed activities programmes available on board, guests will never need to worry about a shortage of things to do. On a sea day, why not relax around the pool, pick up a new skill from one of the arts and crafts specialists, enjoy a game of bridge or read a good book in the library?
Arts and crafts sessions led by specialists are available on voyages of five nights or more and offer hours of fun. Guests can get creative with lots of classes, including bead jewellery making, decorative card art, mosaic decoration and more. Alternatively, guests can attend lectures by passionate speakers who are experts on their subjects and deliver their talks with great knowledge and enthusiasm.
In the evening, guests will be presented with a high standard of varied entertainment, including guest acts, cabaret groups and classical interludes.
For those looking to soak up the talents of the on board entertainment team, head over to the show lounge and be dazzled by the quality of performances showcased. Otherwise, be soothed by the resident pianist and violinist, while sipping on one of the finest beverages on the menu. For those with music in their bones, the on board DJ plays hits throughout the evening, allowing guests to get lost in the music and dance the night away.
