With each ship in P&O Cruises’ impressive fleet carrying unique qualities it is important that guests choose the right cruise for them and their companions. For those looking for a family-friendly cruise, we recommend Azura or Ventura. For those looking for a childfree cruise, P&O Cruises have Aurora and Arcadia which are exclusively for adults. Britannia, the newest addition to the P&O Cruises fleet, is designed with a British feel at her core and includes the latest innovations, entertainment and modern design.
Britannia, P&O’s flagship cruise ship, is a glamorous vessel that is ideal both for first time cruisers and those who have been sailing the world’s waters for years. She has the largest art collection at sea and also boasts adult only clubs, comedians, musicians and cookery clubs.
An array of tempting dishes are available on every P&O cruise, with menus created by celebrity chefs and sommeliers, including Eric Lanlard, Olly Smith and Marco Pierre White – also known as P&O Cruises ‘Food Heroes’. On specially selected cruises, P&O Cruises’ Food Heroes sail with guests and offer cooking demonstrations, masterclasses, book signings and Q&A sessions.
On the Arcadia, for example, you can look forward to indulging at Marco Pierre White’s Ocean Grill restaurant or spending an elegant evening at the Piano Bar or The Rising Sun pub. No matter your choice or preference while cruising with P&O Cruises, there’s a super dining option for you. And those lucky enough to be cruising with P&O’s Ventura can look forward to an evening of exotic live music at the lavish Tamarind Club or even, if you’re feeling adventurous, try out some salsa moves after a few mojitos at Ventura’s Cuban-themed Havana nightclub.
While enjoying a P&O cruise, you’ll find a refined and sophisticated décor that creates a cosy and comfortable atmosphere. During the day, if you’re not exploring the many exciting destinations on offer, you could pamper yourselves at the spa, cool down in the pool or take a swing at one of the golf nets. If you’re looking for something to get your pulse racing, head to the fitness centre and join a Pilates class. There is so much on offer on a P&O Cruise, the various ports of call will inevitably have to compete for your time and affection.
An evening on board a P&O cruise is a highlight in itself, with a diverse range of bars and lounges available. Black tie evenings are not to be missed, with guests encouraged to wear their most elegant attire – though this is not compulsory, and you are welcome to adopt a more casual approach by dining at the buffet.
Entertainment goes above and beyond expectations, with incredible performances including West End and Broadway musical hits, dance troupes, cabaret acts and much more. P&O Cruises are renowned for their themed cruises including the much-loved Strictly Come Dancing themed cruise, which features special appearances from dancers and judges from the hit BBC show.
In 2019, P&O Cruises altered their on board dress code. During the day, dress as you would for any holiday – t-shirts, shorts and sundresses. Away from the pool, shoes are required, and they request no pool wear in indoor public areas. There are two evening dress codes from 6pm for guests aged 17 and over. P&O Cruises theme nights and seasonal events are the only exception and if you’d prefer to keep things causal, you’re free to wear more relaxed clothing in the buffet. For casual evening wear, dress as you would for dinner in a nice restaurant; smart dark denim or trousers and a nice top.
Black Tie evenings offer you the chance to get dressed up. Don your favourite cocktail dress, tuxedo, ball gown or dinner jacket. You may also wear formal national dress or military uniform.
Theme nights are great fun. From 80s pop to spectacular black and white nights, you can have a ball crafting your perfect outfit – though you don’t have to dress up if you don’t want to.
On a P&O cruise, you’ll have the world at your fingertips with fascinating worldwide itineraries, including the Mediterranean, Europe, Canary Islands and the Caribbean. Each itinerary has been carefully planned with more overnight stays in favoured ports. Selected itineraries also include some of the world’s most exhilarating events such as festivals, concerts and sports events. With so much to see and do, P&O Cruises have a team of experts that have created a number of fascinating shore excursions that are perfectly designed for all ages, interests and abilities. For those preferring to explore alone, shuttle buses are available in selected destinations.

Yes, there is a dress code on board but it only applies in the evening. During the day you can wear whatever you like. There are two dress codes: Evening Casual and Black Tie. Evening Casual is stylish resort or leisurewear. For example, casual separates or dresses for ladies and open-neck polo shirts and casual long trousers (not shorts or ¾ length trousers) for men. A jacket and smart trousers can be worn but are not compulsory. T-shirts are also acceptable but should not have any offensive symbols or language on them. Smart dark denim is also fine but not trainers, football shirts or tracksuits. Black Tie is glamorous evening wear such as cocktail dresses, ball gowns or even smart trouser suits for ladies and dinner jackets or tuxedos for men. Though dark lounge or business suit and tie can be worn as an alternative.
All P&O cruises are all full board and include breakfast, lunch, dinner, poolside grills, deck barbecues, 24-hour buffets and snacks. Room service and afternoon tea are also included.
Every evening, a place in the main dining room will be set for you and when booking (depending on your ship and fare), you can choose to dine at a set time or one that will fit around your day to day plans. P&O have a few options for you to choose from; Club Dining, Freedom Dining and Select Dining. Club Dining is a fixed seating plan with two sittings, the first is at 6.30pm and the second is at 8.30pm. A table will be reserved for you at the same time each evening and you’ll dine with the same guests and be served by the same waiters for the duration of your cruise. Freedom Dining is available on Arcadia, Aurora, Azura, Britannia and Ventura. This option allows you to dine flexibly between 6.00pm and 9.30pm. If a table isn’t available, you will be given a pager to advise you when one becomes free. Select Dining gives you the opportunity to dine in a speciality restaurant for a small charge. Enjoy restaurants by Michelin-starred chefs such as Marco Pierre White and Atul Kochar.
There are also a range of 24-hour dining options such as buffet food courts, pizzerias and daytime grills. In all instances, the cost of your meal is included in your fare. You can also take advantage of 24-hour room service for a small charge.
