Overview of Royal Clipper

As the world’s largest fully rigged sailing ship, weighing 4,425 tonnes and with her 5 masts and 42 sails, Royal Clipper is as beautiful as she is striking. The vessel boasts a state-of-the-art navigation system, however, her sails are in use whenever possible, adding to the authentic and unique wind-powered experience of journeying by sailing boat. In addition, with a crew of 106 and a maximum of 227 passengers, you’re guaranteed a warm welcome and exemplary attention to detail, which, combined with lavish accommodation and superb on board facilities, make your holiday one that you’ll never forget.

On Board Experience

At the end of a memorable day spent exploring the seas, return to the sanctuary of your on board accommodation to relax and recline in comfort and luxury. The eight different grades of staterooms and suites are all furnished with polished wood-trimmed cabinetry and wall to wall carpeting and are fitted with marble bathrooms, creating a cosy and decadent ambience. In addition, the suites benefit from some additional amenities which include a whirlpool bathtub, sitting area and room service and the Deluxe Studios also have a veranda.

The spacious, light and airy dining room is located at the bottom of a three-tiered atrium where you can enjoy delicious international and local cuisine in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The Piano Bar (which has the glass base of the swimming pool on the next deck as its central feature) serves a continental breakfast every morning and tea, coffee and fruit throughout the day. The bar even caters for those who like to burn the midnight oil with snacks served between 11:45 pm and 1:00 am. Sunbathers and sunset watchers can enjoy the small pool bar which is located on the top deck whilst the outdoor, covered Tropical Bar with its large wooden deck, is the perfect venue for pre-dinner drinks and cocktail-hour snacks.

There is something for everyone on board Royal Clipper. Relax in the Piano Bar whilst listening to the musical entertainment, enjoy disco dancing in the Tropical Bar or settle into a comfy seat in the Observation Lounge or library with its red leather sofas and velvet-upholstered chairs.

Keen water sport enthusiasts or novices can experience activities such as kayaking, surfing, paddleboarding, water-skiing, swimming, snorkelling or scuba diving from the ship’s marina platform. Or you can choose to remain on board and enjoy a leisurely swim in one of the ship’s three swimming pools. For those who want to experience life from a higher vantage point, there is even the opportunity to climb the mast for a unique bird’s eye view from the crow’s nest.

Whether you want to relax and unwind or work on your fitness levels, visit the Royal Spa and indulge in the spa and health club located in the Captain Nemo Lounge which boasts underwater glass portholes for spectacular sea-life viewing. Lie back and let your cares drift away as you enjoy a traditional or Thai massage in the beauty salon or relax in the Moroccan steam room. Those who fancy something more energetic can choose to join one of the group exercise sessions held on board the ship or work out in the well-equipped gym. You can also take advantage of the on board pools up on the sun deck or make the most of the beach stops by engaging in a variety of water sports and underwater activities.

Royal Clipper offers once-in-a-lifetime cruise itineraries around the Mediterranean, departing from Civitavecchia and Venice.
