Star Clipper is a 4 mast, barkentine-rigged vessel, 360 feet in length with 16 sails and weighing 2,298 tonnes. Her sails are in use whenever possible, adding to the authentic and unique wind-powered experience of journeying by sailing boat. She is as beautiful as she is graceful and makes for a spectacular sight as she moves effortlessly across the waves. In addition, with a crew of 72 and a maximum of 170 passengers, you’re guaranteed an exemplary level of service and attention to detail. Accommodation
After a day of seafaring adventure and fun, you can return to the pure haven of your on board accommodation to relax and unwind. There are seven grades of accommodation including one Owner’s Suite. All of the staterooms have rosewood-trimmed cabinetry and wall-to-wall carpeting and are fitted with marble bathrooms exuding both comfort and opulence. The deluxe staterooms are larger in size and have additional facilities which include a full-sized Jacuzzi bathtub.
Dining
Delicious buffet-style and a la carte cuisine are served in the elegant open-seating dining room, where rich mahogany panelling and hardwood tables, coupled with friendly, welcoming staff, create a warm and relaxed atmosphere. Early in the day, enjoy a tasty buffet-style breakfast and lunch and then in the evening, choose from an extensive five-course dinner menu that is sure to delight the palate and cater to everyone’s tastes. Cocktail hour offers the perfect opportunity to enjoy some appetising canapes on deck in the Tropical Bar and for those who like to stay up late, snacks are available in the Piano Bar until 1 am.
Entertainment
Star Clipper offers a variety of entertainment. You can unwind in the Piano Bar and Lounge whilst enjoying the musical entertainment, take your place in the Tropical Bar for a spot of dancing or sink into a comfortable seat in the Observation Lounge or library with its Edwardian styling and Belle Époque fireplace. For a truly relaxing activity, line in the netting at the front of the ship’s bows and watch the bow wake as it streams along the ship’s sides.
With an emphasis on water sports, Star Clipper sails two sports teams; one for surface water sports and another for the wonders found beneath. There is something for everyone from diving and water skiing to small sailboat sailing and banana boat rides. For those looking to remain active on board, exercise classes take place on deck each morning as well as supervised mast climbing, from which you will be afforded a magnificent view. Relax in one of the two small pools on board or soak up the sun in one of the many lounge charis. Portholes in the bottoms of both pools are a special feature and provide a novel view.
