150 Years of Holland America Line

This very special voyage will bridge the past and future of Holland America Line, re-creating the maiden voyage of the original Rotterdam I in October 1872. Departing from Rotterdam, this voyage will spend the day in Paris and explore historic Plymouth, before arriving in New York for an overnight stay.

Special events will take place in both Rotterdam and New York to mark this historic occasion, and of course there will be the traditional galas, cocktail parties and celebrations on board to mark the 150-year anniversary in style.

Rotterdam VII offers the latest state-of-the-art amenities, yet elements of the ship hearken back to the proud history of Holland America Line - for instance at the new Half Moon Bay, the cocktails served all have a fascinating history linked back to the brand - from the De Halve Maen (an ode to Dutch exploration and Henry Hudson), to Rotterdam VII which tells the story of the 'coin ceremony' and the two coins dating from 1972 that are welded into the ship's hull.
