Is my holiday safe with ROL Cruise?

Yes. At ROL Cruise, we look after your holiday as if it were our own and can happily assure you that your holiday is fully protected. Our ABTA membership protects all package and tailormade holidays booked through ROL Cruise and our ATOL license protects all package and tailormade holidays where flights are involved. This ensures that you will not lose money or be without a flight home should the tour operator go out of business.

When is my final balance due?

Your final balance due date is shown on your ROL Cruise booking confirmation paperwork. We will need to collect your final payment in advance of your travel date to allow us time to process and forward this to our cruise line partners and other holiday suppliers as agreed at the time of booking. These timescales allow us to receive, and process, your payment in accordance with our agreement with your cruise line and other suppliers.

How do I earn Cruise Miles®?

For every booking you make with ROL Cruise, you’ll earn 1 Cruise Mile for each pound you spend. Cruise Miles® will be equally divided between all adults named on the booking e.g. on a £5,000 booking for 2 adults, each adult will be warded 2,500 Cruise Miles®.

What is the value of my Cruise Miles®?

The value of one Cruise Mile, when redeemed, is 1p.

Can I earn Cruise Miles® if I book a cruise onboard?

Yes, as long as you nominate ROL Cruise as your chosen cruise specialist, you’ll earn Cruise Miles® for that booking. All you need to do is quote our ABTA number (F9255) when booking onboard. Your Cruise Miles® will be awarded as soon as your cruise booking is transferred to us.

How can I check my Cruise Miles® balance?

To check your Cruise Miles® balance, please log into My ROL.

Is ROL Cruise ABTA and/or ATOL bonded?

Yes, we are fully ABTA and ATOL protected. Our ABTA numbers are F9255 and W6277 and our ATOL number is 6010.

What should I expect to receive from ROL Cruise when I have returned home from my cruise?

We are dedicated to ensuring you have a wonderful holiday which is why we welcome feedback upon your return. Within 14 days of your return, we’ll send you a welcome home email or a letter with a questionnaire inviting you to share your experience. We’re constantly reviewing our customer service levels and your input is very valuable to us.

Will I be charged for paying by credit card?

In accordance with UK law, you will not be charged for paying by credit card.

Who should I contact if I want to be removed from your mailing list?

Rather than forfeiting my deposit, can I transfer my cruise to a different date or make a name change?

Please read the Booking Conditions which you would have received with your confirmation documents, as these detail the options available to you. It may be possible to transfer your cruise to an alternative date or make a name change for an additional administrative fee, so please call us on 0800 121 6194 to discuss this in detail.

If you’re eligible to transfer your cruise to an alternative date or voyage, please complete our rebooking request form with the details of the cruise you’d like to transfer to.

What should I do if I need to cancel my cruise?

To cancel a cruise, the lead passenger will need to confirm this in writing. You can do so by writing to us at:

If you need to cancel for a medical reason, you may be able to claim monies from your travel insurance provider. It is important that you read your travel insurance policy details to ensure that you’re fully aware of the cover provided.

If you need to cancel for any other reason, please contact your travel insurers for their professional advice.

What should be enclosed in my booking pack?

You should find the following enclosed in your booking pack:

  • A cover letter enclosing documents with a request for you to check that all details are correct
  • A confirmation invoice from ROL Cruise
  • Cruise Line Booking Terms & Conditions and ROL Cruise Agency Terms of Business or ROL Cruise Package Holiday Booking Conditions
  • An ATOL certificate (if your holiday includes flights)

How do I complete my Passenger Information Form/travel insurance details?

It is very important that you provide us with your emergency contact, passport details and travel insurance details no later than 20 weeks before you travel. You can complete this information online via My ROL.

The form asks you to fill in details of your travel insurance provider, policy number, medical assistance provider and telephone number. The medical assistance number is the number you would use to contact your insurance company in the event of medical assistance being required whilst you are on holiday. This information can usually be found in your travel insurance policy wording. However, you may need to contact your insurance provider for this information.

What should I do if there are spelling mistakes or errors?

It is important that you familiarise yourself with the documents you receive to ensure there are no spelling mistakes and that your name is as it appears on your passport.

If you identify an error, please contact us at 0800 121 6191 or email CustomerServices@ROLCruise.co.uk within 7 days of receipt of your confirmation documents to discuss this further.

When will I receive my travel tickets?

We endeavour to issue your tickets at least 10 to 14 days before your travel date. Please call us on 0800 121 6191 if you have not received these within 7 days of departure. Late bookers may be required to collect their tickets at the port/airport at embarkation.

What happens if I’m issued an e-ticket?

A number of operators have introduced e-tickets which allow clients to access and print their own travel documentation online. However, at ROL Cruise, we do this for you so you don’t have to do any of the work. If you receive an email from your cruise line telling you that your tickets are ready for you to print, simply leave this for us to take care of.

Will I need a vaccination before I travel?

Depending on your cruise itinerary and ports of call, you may require a vaccination. As regulations can and do change frequently, we advise you to contact your local GP or the National Health Service at least 12 weeks prior to travel to discuss your personal healthcare requirements. If in doubt, please check with your cruise line for more information.

I have medical requirements - should I let the cruise line know?

Yes. If you’re taking any medical or mobility equipment with you or require any special assistance of facilities including dietary requirements, you should advise your sales agent at the time of booking. Alternatively, contact us at 0800 121 6191 or email us at CustomerServices@ROLCruise.co.uk before you travel.

Your medical requirements may change over the duration of your booking, so it’s important that you update us with any changes to your medical conditions so that we can inform the cruise line and other suppliers, as well as implement any further assistance you may require.

Do you partner with a travel insurance provider?

Do I need to disclose my pre-existing medical conditions?

Yes, it is very important to ensure your travel insurers are aware of any pre-existing medical conditions you may have so they can adjust your policy cover accordingly. If you don’t disclose this important information at the time of taking out travel insurance, you’ll not be covered for any treatment you may require whilst on holiday and may also invalidate your policy. It’s important to also disclose how long you’re travelling for and the cost of your holiday. It’s essential to disclose this information so you can travel with peace of mind.

Can I upgrade my flights? If so, who should I contact?

Can I book a chauffeur transfer?

Yes. Whether you need an airport or port transfer, your chauffeur will be where you want them, when you want them - courteous, calm and attentive and an expert behind the wheel. To start your journey in style, please call us on 0800 121 6191 to book your chauffeur transfer.

Can I book a coach transfer?

Yes. A coach transfer is just one option that may be available through your cruise line. Please call us on 0800 121 6191 to book your chauffeur transfer.

Can I smoke while onboard?

Most ships have designated smoking areas onboard. This ensures the comfort and safety of all passengers and your cooperation is very much appreciated. Please check with your cruise line for more information.

Are gratuities included in the cost of my cruise?

Most cruise lines do not include gratuities in the cost of your cruise. However, this can vary depending on the type of cruise you have booked and with which cruise line. For more information on your chosen cruise line’s policy, please ask at the time of booking so we can advise you further.

Are transfers included in the cost of my cruise?

Transfers are usually included in the cost of your cruise. However, if they’re not and you would like assistance with arranging transfers, please call us on 0800 121 6191 and we will be happy to help.

Can I do laundry onboard?

Most ships have a payable laundry service available - please check your individual ships' facilities or ask at the time of booking.

Will I have access to the internet onboard?

Yes, as well as access to email providers. Please check with your cruise line for more information about internet packages and charges before you travel and confirm which options are available as this may change depending on location and cruise line operator.

Is there Duty-Free onboard?

In accordance with legislation, only alcohol purchased onboard can be consumed onboard and any purchases of alcohol made whilst ashore will be securely stored by the ship crew until the end of your cruise. There is no limit on Duty-Free goods when you’re returning to the UK from an EU country so long as it's for your own personal use.

What dining times are available?

You can relax and eat what you want and when you want on most ships. You will be spoilt for choice with the variety of restaurants with flexible serving times. Dining times and table sizes should have been discussed at the time of booking. If you need to discuss this in more detail, please call us on 0800 121 6191.

How do I pay for purchases whilst onboard?

You will receive a cruise card at check-in which you can charge for all purchases (refreshments, beauty treatments etc.). You will be required to settle your account before disembarking. Payment is usually accepted by all major credit and debit cards and cash.

What currency will I need when ashore?

The currency you require will depend on where you’re travelling. You can check currency requirements with your local Bureau de Change, bank or on the internet.

What if my friends or family need to contact me while I’m away?

It’s always a good idea to leave your travel details with friends and family so they can rest always knowing your travel itinerary and whereabouts. In the event of an emergency, you can ask your friends and family to call us on 0800 121 6191 and we will make every effort to contact you via the ship’s crew or hotelier.

Are cruises family-friendly?

Yes. A family cruise needs to be fun for everyone and toddlers to teenagers can look forward to a variety of activities onboard most ships. Many children’s programmes are offered for specific age groups. More information on opening hours, supervision requirements and babysitting facilities can be obtained at the time of booking or via your chosen cruise line.

How do I book beauty treatments?

Most treatments can be arranged once onboard and are chargeable. However, prices vary between cruise lines and cruise ships so please check with your cruise line before travelling.

How can I book another cruise with ROL Cruise while onboard?

Whilst onboard, you may want to take advantage of the offers and promotions available before you disembark. You can nominate ROL Cruise as your chosen agent by quoting our ABTA number, F9255. By doing so, you will not only benefit from the cruise line’s onboard promotion but you’ll also earn Cruise Miles® if you’re a Cruise Miles® member.

What is the luggage allowance?

As a guide only:

  • Cruise Only: 23kg maximum per suitcase but no restrictions on the number of suitcases (all suitcases must fit into your booked cabin)
  • Flight: Usually 20kg minimum per person but this is dependent on the airline and the class booked

Note: Please check with your booking agent before travelling for specific information on luggage allowance for your cruise.

Can I discuss a booking on behalf of someone else?

If you have not made the booking yourself, and you need to contact us to discuss it, please ensure that the lead passenger or person who made the booking has given us permission to do so at the time of the booking. However, any amendments that need to be made can only be done so by the lead passenger (whoever booked the cruise directly with ROL Cruise).

When will I receive my shore excursion travel labels from Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines?

Please be advised that Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines send shore excursion booklets and luggage labels directly to customers booked to embark on one of their cruises approximately 6 to 8 weeks before travel. If you need to speak to Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines directly, please contact the Shore Tour Department on 01473 746 163.

What currency is used onboard for billing my account?

How much money will I need to take with me?

It is advisable you ensure you have enough money to cover all eventualities. You may also want to take small amounts of local currencies and/or internationally accepted credit cards and debit cards.

Will there be a ROL Cruise Ambassador onboard my cruise?

The ROL Cruise Ambassadors can be found onboard many of our cruises. They are there to help ensure that your holiday runs as smoothly as possible. If you have questions on anything from Cruise Miles® to documentation they will try their best to help. If they’re onboard your voyage, you’ll receive a letter introducing them and advising where you’ll find them onboard.

I can’t log into My ROL account. What do I do?

If you’re having trouble logging into or registering for My ROL, please email Register@ROLCruise.co.uk. A member of our team will be able to support you with accessing your online account.

How can I improve my understanding of cruise line language?

For those new to cruising, cruise line language can be confusing. Here are some of the most common words and phrases and their meanings:

  • Aboard: On the ship
  • Aft: The back of the ship
  • Ashore: On land
  • Berth: A bed
  • Cabin/Stateroom: A room onboard
  • Category: The price level of a cabin based on location, size and amenities
  • Debark: To go ashore
  • Deck: Each level/floor of the ship
  • Disembark: To leave the ship
  • Dock: A place to moor the ship
  • Embark: To go aboard the ship
  • Fleet: Several ships under the same ownership
  • Fore/Forward: The front of the ship
  • Gangway: Ramp or stairway between the ship and the shore whilst the ship is docked

If your cruise has been cancelled, your cruise line may be offering you the value of your cruise towards a future departure. Simply call us on 0800 121 6191 to speak to a member of our team.

What can I use my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) towards?

Your Future Cruise Credit can be used towards a new cruise booking. Many cruise lines are offering enhanced Future Cruise Credits*, why not utilise it to upgrade your cabin, book a shore excursion, transfer it to family or friends or even put it towards another booking?

*Please note: This varies by the cruise line. Please call us on 0800 121 6191 to find out exactly what you can use your Future Cruise Credit for.

What if the value of my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) is more than the new cruise I’m booking?

You may be able to transfer your unspent credit to another cruise, however, this depends on the cruise line.

Please note: If you have booked an exclusive ROL Cruise package, the terms differ. The offer applies only to the cruise element of bookings where ROL Cruise is the tour operator.

What if I don’t know which voyage to use my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) on?

How can I apply my Future Cruise Credit (FCC)?

Is my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) transferable to family or friends?

Whether you can transfer your Future Cruise Credit to family or friends is depending on the cruise line.

Can I use my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) on an existing booking?

Whether you can use your Future Cruise Credit on an existing booking will differ depending on the cruise line. Simply give us a call on 0800 121 6191 to find out.

When does my Future Cruise Credit (FCC) expire?

Each cruise line will offer different expiration dates, so please be sure to check how much time you have left to utilise it. Please call us to find out the expiry date of your Future Cruise Credit.

Will I get a refund on any extras I’ve booked?

Refunds on extras are dependent on the cruise line you have booked with. If you have booked shore excursions directly with the cruise line, they may refund you. Some cruise lines refund port taxes too. To find out more, please give us a call.

Do I rebook my cruise directly with the cruise line when using a Future Cruise Credit (FCC)?

You can rebook your cruise with ROL Cruise. We will ensure your Future Cruise Credit is applied to your booking.

My booking is not showing in My ROL account. What do I do?

It can take up to 14 days for our Quality Assurance Team to process your booking and for your cruise to show in your My ROL account.

I have created a My ROL account but my booking isn’t showing. What do I do?

If you have only just registered for a My ROL account you will need to match the details provided at the time of booking. We kindly ask that you use your name as per your passport.

Furthermore, it can take up to 14 working days for our Quality Assurance Team to process your booking and for your cruise to show in your My ROL account.

Help! I can’t sign into My ROL account. What do I do?

Please make sure you already have a My ROL account. To do this, enter your email address here. If you already have an account, you will receive the following message, “An account with this e-mail already exists.”

Please note: Completing a booking with us does not automatically register you for an account. To create a My ROL account, please do so by registering for our free-to-join loyalty programme, Cruise Miles®.

What do I do if I have not received my booking gift?

Your complimentary gift will be sent to you once you have paid your full balance.

Please note: The process can take between 4 and 6 weeks after your balance has been paid. If you have still not received your complimentary gift after this period, we kindly ask you to contact Reception@ROLCruise.co.uk.

Details of your complimentary gift should show on your ROL Cruise invoice under Supplement Charges/Discounts. If you do not see this on your paperwork, we kindly ask you to contact Reception@ROLCruise.co.uk.

Please note: If you have transferred your booking, you will not receive an additional complimentary gift.

Can I pay my full balance with American Express?

No. Unfortunately, we do not accept American Express on full-balance payments.

How do I update my passport details?

You can update your passport details online via My ROL. Once logged in to your account, select Manage Booking on the cruise you want to add your passport details to. Once you have done this, click on Passengers in the top navigation. Here, you’ll see details for all relevant passengers. Your passport details can be updated by clicking on the middle icon, Passport Information. Please enter the relevant fields and click Submit.

Does my passport have more than 10 years of validity?

If you have entered your passport details and been notified that your passport has more than 10 years of validity, this means your passport may not be accepted by some countries. For example, if your passport was issued in January 2017 and expires in May 2017, it has 10 years + 4 months of validity.

Passports should be valid for at least 6 months from the return date. Please check the requirements for the countries you’re visiting here.

After booking, when will I receive my documents?

It can take up to 14 days for our quality assurance team to process your booking and send your documents.

Where do I add my information?

If you have completed a booking with us, you may be required to provide us with further information. This may include:

  • Emergency contact information
  • Passport information
  • Travel insurance information

This information can be added via My ROL. To add this information to your account, please complete the following steps:

  1. Log into My ROL. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register here. Just make sure to use the same details supplied at the time of booking.
  2. Click on Bookings from the left-hand side of the page.
  3. Select Manage Booking on the cruise you would like to add your information to.
  4. Click on Passengers at the top of the page.
  5. Add your information to the relevant fields.

Please note: Not all cruise lines require this information. If you have booked an exclusive ROL Cruise package, regardless of the cruise line, we will require all of this information.

What is a Recommend a Friend (RAF) code?

A Recommend a Friend (RAF) code is a unique code that is supplied to all of our Cruise Miles® members to allow us to identify them when recommending friends to us. This code allows us, if eligible, to credit any earnt Cruise Miles® to the recommender’s account. You can invite as many friends as you like to join Cruise Miles®. For the first five recommended friends, you’ll be credited 1,000 Cruise Miles® (provided they have not registered with us before).

To find your Recommend a Friend code, please log into My ROL.

If a friend has sent you their Recommend a Friend code, please supply this at the time of registration to ensure you both earn your eligible Cruise Miles®. Just tick the box on the registration form.

Can I pay online?

Yes, you can pay your balance online. Simply log into My ROL and follow the below steps:

  1. Log into My ROL. If you have not yet registered for an account, you can do so here. We kindly ask that your details match those supplied at the time of booking.
  2. Click on Bookings.
  3. Click on Manage Booking on the cruise you would to pay.
  4. On the right-hand side, you’ll see a balance summary. Please enter the amount you wish to pay and select Pay.
  5. Continue following the payment instructions.

Where do I find my cabin number?

You will find your cabin number on your ROL Cruise invoice and your cruise line invoice. Alternatively, you can view all of your posted documents via My ROL.

To find your cabin number and view your documents online, please complete the following steps:

  1. Log into My ROL. If you don’t have an account yet, you can register here. Just make sure to use the same details supplied at the time of booking.
  2. Click on Bookings and select the relevant booking by selecting Manage Booking.
  3. Click on Documents and select the relevant document.

Please note: If you have booked a guaranteed fare, you’ll be given your cabin number on arrival.

What is the login for My ROL account?

Your login for My ROL will be the email address you used to register for an account.

If you have not registered for an account, you can do so here. Please ensure your details match the details given at the time of booking.

Can I call ROL Cruise from overseas?

Yes, you can call us from overseas. Our overseas telephone number is +44 1206 719 103.

My passenger information is not saving to My ROL account. What do I do?

It may take a few moments for your passenger information to show in your My ROL account. To see the changes, you may need to refresh your browser. If you’re on a computer, you can do this by pressing F5. If you’re using a mobile device, you can do this by clicking the three dots and tapping reload.

Can I purchase a drinks package?

Yes, many cruise lines allow you to purchase a drinks package if you did not do so at the time of booking. If you’d like to add a drinks package to your booking, please call our Customer Services Team on 0800 121 6191 option 2. Depending on the cruise line, drinks packages and prices may vary. Please see below for more details:

How do I use the wishlist on your website?

You can add as many cruises to your wishlist as you’d like to help you choose the right voyage for you. All you need to do is click on the heart symbol. From your wishlist, you can send an enquiry to find out more information.

My cruise was cancelled. How do I transfer to a different date?

If your cruise was suspended by the cruise line, and you would like to transfer to an alternative sailing, please complete our rebooking request form with the details of the itinerary you would like to transfer to. Once we have received your request, a member of our transfer team will be in touch.

Where can I view deck plans?

You can view the deck plan of your chosen ship on our website. Please follow the below steps:

  1. Click on Cruise Lines at the top of the page.
  2. Select the cruise line you are sailing with or wish to sail with and click Read More.
  3. Select The Fleet at the top of the page to be directed to the cruise lines fleet.
  4. Select your chosen cruise ship.
  5. Select View Deck Plans to open the deck plan of your chosen cruise ship.

UK passport holders must have a passport that is less than 10 years old on the day of departure and must have at least 6 months remaining on the day of return. If your passport does not comply with these specifications, you may need to obtain a new passport before travel otherwise it may result in you being denied boarding. Will I need an ETIAS to travel to Europe?

Yes, from 2024 each eligible traveller, regardless of age, will require an ETIAS to visit EU member countries. The ETIAS must be applied for online prior to arrival to the EU. The following data will be required for each ETIAS application: personal biometric data (e.g. name, gender, date of birth, etc), passport or travel document information, EU member state of entry, background questions on an applicant’s health, criminal record as well as previous EU immigration history. The ETIAS can only be used for transit, tourism and business travel. As ETIAS will be checked by the traveller’s air carrier, sea carrier or international carrier transporting groups overland by coach. If an ETIAS is not approved, the traveller will not be allowed to board the travel vessel, be it an aeroplane, boat or coach vehicle.

 

What is a Celebrity SeaPass?

What is the dress code onboard Azamara?

In all of Azamara’s dining rooms, a resort casual dress code is encouraged. Bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps, bathing suits, shorts and jeans are not allowed in the main dining room or two speciality restaurants.

In Prime C, Aqualina and Discoveries Restaurant, many guests enjoy dressing up. Formal evening wear is not expected. It is recommended that men bring a sport coat or suit. For women, dresses, skirts, blouses with pants and capris are all appropriate attire.
